Hope this information can be of help.
Thank you, just wanted to compare it with PM. PM data add-on is $0.03/MB,
but for PM an "early renewal" is also available (unofffcially), i.e. if you run out of data, you can ask to renew your plan early..

It is not like Koodo tab which is an interest free loan for the phone. You still have a monthly payment for your phone on top of plan payment. For the $54 plan, you get more data, more minutes and a better phone for $18 more over the $36 plan.

BTW, this is not for me. I will not sign a 2 years contract on a $500 or $700 phone. I will stay with the $36 plan and get a $100 or $200 phone just in case I have to cancel my plan within 2 years.
+1

I totally agree....I've been with Zoomer for over two years and have no plans to change provider but am not comfortable with a two year contract on a $500 or $700 phone. There are a lot of good deals out there to get decent (not necessarily the latest flagship) phones at really attractive prices - many have been posted on RFD over the months. Coupling a decent phone at a decent price and a good cell phone plan with an excellent provider like Zoomer just makes the most sense to me.

Any thoughts on the Samsung S5 Neo vs Lg G3 (either free on the $45 plan)? Resale value? Camera?

Looks like the LG G3 has the better camera, also has OIS. But the LG debuted in 2014 while the Samsung Neo was released in 2015.

Here is a comparison link from GSMarena....

I have sold a brand new Samsung S5 in December for about $200 locked to Koodo/Telus. LG G3 is an older phone and may be harder to get the same amount for it. Especially since some are weary of LG because of previous bootloop issue (no issues now with any LG device). A phone with great specs and potentially good resale value. Only thing is, $150 upfront on the $45 plan, but subsidy is only sitting at $350 if you ever decide to upgrade in future.

Amazing. Wanted to do a quick sell on mine so I listed it at $230. Someone close by offered $200 to pick up right away so I sold it immediately.

Also FYI Zoomer has no more stock of the S5 Neocvs anymore. It is no longer listed on their website.

Tichi wrote: I agree, Zoomer is quite good. For me, PM is more enticing, because of data flexibility (12 GB distributed at your will over 3 months), and I prefer to buy my phones outright anyway.

BTW, what is the overage rate for data with Zoomer?
The data overage rate:
For the $36/$45 plan is $0.05 for additional MB used =$50 1gb
For the $54 plan is $0.02 for additional MB used = $20 1gb

Also it's not just the Samsung S6 free for the $54 Plan but also the Nexus 6P or the Samsung A5. Any of these three phones for $0. These are all great options if you need a new device.
I signed up in February or March when they were offering the $36 plan that included 2GB of data on a 2-year contract. Do you know what loyalty offering I will be getting?

Check the thread I've linked below for the available loyalty plans. If you need more data, you can choose the $45/4GB or $54/5GB plan; you don't necessarily have to stay on the $36/2GB plan.

I will be eligible for the loyalty plans at the end of June, and I'm debating whether to choose the $45 or $54 plan.

Not sure whether it has dual sim capability. Please post here if you find out otherwise. Yes, I believe the galaxy A5 was released in 2017.

I just noticed the following PM thread
public-mobile-50-month-6gb-2-5-mbps-2112627/

· $50/30 days: Province-wide talk,text and 6GB of data (4GB + 2GB of bonus data) on 3G*.
· $40/30 days: Province-wide talk, text and 2GB of data (1GB + 1 GB of bonus data) on 3G*.
*Throttled to 2.5mbps

My Chatr/Mobilicity is throttled by Rogers to 3mbps up and down. It is slow. But with the autopay $10 off for 8 months, I will stay with Chatr at $20/m 6GB 3G data. After that, I will be switching to Zoomer.
With Zoomer competition raising their plan price, Zoomer $36 with 1GB LTE data is still very attractive.
Even the Zoomer $40.5 2GB LTE plan is still better. I will pay extra 50 cents every month for Canada wide minutes instead of province wide minutes and LTE data instead of throttled 3G data

i plan to switch out of zoomer to another service provider. i have $220 on my tab. Do I need to notify them of my intention and to pay off my tab first? Or can I just go to the new service provider and port out, and zoomer will then automatically bill me the tab amount on my last invoice?

Thanks~

But if you want to keep your number, after ported out your number, Zoomer will bill you that balance of your phone account.

If you don't need your phone number, you may let someone to take over your contract - My guess is that you already with Zoomer for 3 months and have a $36 plan with 2GB data. The person, who takes over your contract, will only wait 3 months to get loyalty plan.

I got both my sister and girlfriend on the 40.50$ plan with 2gb (previous plan) and they have no complains. My girlfriend is using the A5 and loves it.

The customer service is always excellent and prompt. Waiting 6 months to get the perks of loyalty plans for both of them!
