{HOT} $36 2GB LTE 400 Daytime YMMV - $45 2.5GB/$54 3GB 600-800 Daytime Canada Wide Promo - ENDING JULY 31st

Deal Link:
Retailer:
Zoomer Wireless
Update April 24th, 2017: This promo is now officially listed on the front page of the Zoomer website. $50 referral credit also now listed on the homepage also.
Update June 21st 2017: Looks like the $36 promo may expire end of this month on June 30th. The $45 2.5gb and $54 3gb Canada 150 promos however will expire July 7th. Also FYI Zoomer is now out of stock of Samsung S5 Neo and Nexus 6P.
Update July 9th 2017: Looks like the $36 promo may have actually expired July 7th. YMMV unless you have a reference number or you have emailed them or left a message on some way. The $45 2.5gb and $54 3gb Canada 150 promos however seem to be extended to July 31st. Also FYI Zoomer is now out of stock of: Huawei GR5, Samsung S5 Neo, Samsung S6, and Nexus 6P.

No real official thread to talk about this specific promo, but Zoomer has Double Your Talk, Text, Data + EXTRA 1GB of LTE on all plans with data over $36. Zoomer runs on the Rogers Network and is a subsidiary of Cityfone which is owned by Rogers. All companies have Rogers network and coverage area. These plans are available for any new customer or existing customers. $50 referral credit also available on new accounts for both the person referring and getting referred.

$36 Promo Plan Details:
400 Canada-Wide Minutes
2GB of LTE Data
UNLIMITED Text, Picture and Video Messages (Canada & International)
Unlimited Evenings and Weekends 6PM-7AM
UNLIMITED Zoomer-to-Zoomer calling Canada-Wide
Voicemail, Call Display, Name Display, Call Waiting & Conference Calling
Free LG F4NR, LG K4, Samsung J1, Samsung J3, or Huawei GR5 with 2 year term

PLUS: Earn a $50 Referral Credit by getting a referral from a current Zoomer Customer
*Referral credits for new accounts only and must stay with Zoomer for 30 days or credit gets clawed back from both accounts

There are also plans available with 2gb and unlimited incoming calls for $40.50/month with LG G3, 2.5GB option for $45/month with $150 Samsung A5 and 3GB option for $54/month with free LG G4 or Samsung S6 (Canada 150 Promo until July 7th).
Note: Changes between promos must happen before the first 30 days of service or you risk losing double everything + 1gb bonuses. Any changes afterward would be after 6 months months of service when upgrading to one of their Loyalty Plans. But as with anything, YMMV.

FAQs:

1. How do I sign up for this awesome plan?

By activating a chat session with a Zoomer rep or calling in. They will perform a credit check when signing you up. If you have poor credit, you can put in a $150 deposit and still get this plan! Zoomer will then ship you phone and SIM card. Delivery usually takes 2-3 days but YMMV.  Don't forget to get a referral from a current Zoomer customer as you will each get a $50 bill credit.

2. Is this plan available on BYOD?

No. Plans listed above are only available on 2 year contract. Double Your Talk, Text, Data + EXTRA 1GB promo is not available on BYOD. BYOD plans are as listed on Zoomer website. If you want the cheapest buyout option get the lowest value phone ($100) as an emergency back up phone to sell/donate/trade in. Your buyout cost would then be $100÷24xmonths left on your contract. Or alternatively you can get the GR5 or J3 (highest resale value and sell for $100-150 (YMMV) and reduce your overall costs.

3. What phone is best to get with this plan?

Depends on your needs. Best specs: GR5. Best resale value: GR5 or J3... Resale value can range from $100-150 but YMMV. Best option for low buyout price: LG F4NR. Also, please note if you decide to choose the GR5, the GR5s sent out by Zoomer does not support a dual SIM function. Single SIM use only.

4. Can I use my own phone with Zoomer?

Yes. Zoomer sends you a 3 in 1 SIM that will fit into full sized, micro, or nano SIM card slots. Rogers locked devices and unlocked devices will all work under the Zoomer network of you have a phone already you would prefer to use. Fido locked Android phones also work, but YMMV depending on model. If you have an unlocked Android you must enter in the Rogers LTE APN listed below. If you have an unlocked LG device (G3/G4/G5), you may need to factory reset your phone after updating your APN. YMMV
APN Settings
Name: Zoomer LTE
APN: ltemobile.apn
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
Authentication Type: None
APN Type: Not set
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: APv4
Bearer: Unspecified
Mobile virtual network operator type: GID
Mobile virtual network operator value: CC

5. What if 400 daytime mins is not enough for me?

You can use apps like Hangouts for outgoing calls using data/wifi, opt for the $40.50 Plan which includes unlimited incoming calls, or ask Zoomer for add ons for the first 6 months. After 6 months you may be eligible for a Loyalty Plan which includes unlimited Canada Wide talk.

6. What are these Loyalty Plans I keep hearing about?

Loyalty Plans are plans available to customers that have been with Zoomer for at least 6 months of service but YMMV if these will continue to be offered in the future. To date: $36, $45, $54 and $72 Family Plans all seem to still be available. For more info, check the Zoomer Loyalty Plan thread here: zoomer-wireless-zoomer-loyalty-cell-pho ... t-2058700/
*Loyalty Plan thread is listed as Expired Deal, but is still available to date. But YMMV

7. What type of SIM does Zoomer send out to new customers?

3 in 1 SIM which can be punched into full, micro or nano.

8. How long is this plan/bonus referral available until?

Some have said end of June, some have said end of September, but no matter what YMMV. Speak to a Zoomer rep to find out most up to date info, this plan has been extended multiple times since early January 2017. The $50 bonus referral credit however is listed on invoices as expiring end of September. After that referral credits drop back to $25.

9. Does Zoomer have any retail locations?

No. But they have the best customer service of any company I personally have been with and I've been with quite a few. Activate a chat session to chat online or give them a call to sign up/ask any questions. Reps are quick, super friendly and knowledgible.

10. What happens after my 2 year contract is over?

You can either sign another 2 year commitment and get another subsidized device or just continue on with the plan you have (including, of course, the bonus data) at the same price - bonus minutes / data does not go away and the price does not go up at all.

Mod Edit: Do not ask for a referral or state that you have one to give. Comments like "PM me for details” or “you’ve got a PM" is also not allowed - you may get an infraction, additionally, sending unsolicited referrals through private message which gets reported will almost certainly earn you an infraction.

Koodo: $60/10GB
Zoomer: $45 4GB LTE Loyalty Plan
OP of the Zoomer Wireless $36 2GB LTE Promo
Thread Summary
Please carefully read the following $36 plan details: ( PLUS $50 REFERRAL CREDIT STILL ONGOING!)

500MB doubled with another 500MB data plus 1GB bonus = 2GB Data LTE
200 + 200 bonus daytime minutes = 400 daytime canada-wide
Canada-Wide Long Distance
UNLIMITED Text & MMS (Canada/INTL, from Canada)
Unlimited EW Minutes 6PM
Unlimited Incoming Text
FREE Mini Voicemail ( 3 messages saved for 3 days, 3 minutes in length each)
FREE Name Display
Free Call Waiting
Free Caller ID
Free Conference Calling

This plan is valid for as long as you remain on this plan. For the plan you have chosen, you must take a device from us on a 2 year term. You may choose
between LG F4NR, LG K4, Samsung Galaxy J1, or the Huawei GR5. The value of the phone at the time you cancel is the cost of the cancellation before the 2 years is completed: LG F4NR ($100, goes down by $4.18 per month), LG K4/Samsung Galaxy J1 ($150, goes down by $6.50 per month), or Huawei GR5 ($250, goes down by $10.42 per month).

However, you may use any phone you like by removing and inserting the SIM card to the phone of your choice. Please ensure your phone is unlocked or locked to Rogers. If you have a phone
that is locked to Fido, it must be recent and it must not be a Fido-locked iPhone, it will work with us.

The sign up process is very simple. Here is the process for sign up.
1. Pick your plan and phone
2. Wait for the package to arrive
3. Contact us when the package arrives and we will transfer your existing number from your current provider and that will cancel your service with your current provider. Please have your current provider's account number ready when you're ready to port in at that time.

There are also 2.5GB option for $45/month and 3GB option for $54 a month with options for other phones as well if you need a new phone.

Message CSRs via chat on Zoomer or call them directly to sign up. Great customer service!

Edit: Plan is only available on 2 year contracts and Double Your Talk, Text, Data + EXTRA 1GB promo is not available on BYOD. But you can sell the phone to help lower your monthly cost, or get the lowest value phone as an emergency back up phone as it has the lowest "buy out" cost.

Sorry. I think it needs to have data already in the plan but not 100%. I have changed the original post to reflect that. But try and ask over chat, it wouldn't hurt to try!

A family member was able to call and switch from 1gb/400daytime/unltd 6pm-weekend to this plan with 2gb. Call took 2 minutes and they said it will change at the start of the next billing cycle. Also the same person added the home phone a few days ago for $10/mo. Just waiting for the number to port.

Zoomer is awesome. Top Notch for customer service from my experience. Even if Robellus offers the same plan, do yourself a favor and stick with Zoomer as they will give you better customer service in the long run.

There's sooo many zoomer threads that have this in it, what you mean there's none?
Edit: Looks like mods expired the $36 one.

Yes. Hidden in the other some Zoomer threads, but not everyone reads into threads that may not apply to them like Loyalty (now expired) or the $10 home phone thread.

I think many others would agree that this is an active HOT deal deserving of its own thread.

If Zoomer keeps the $36 loyalty plan from now on, you may be able to switch to the $36 loyalty plan with unlimited minutes after 6 months. YMMV.
The $36 loyalty plan supposed to be expired end of Dec 2016. But new Zoomer customers were told by Zoomer CSR that they will be able to switch to the unlimited minutes plan in 6 months. YMMV
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $34 15GB, $11 250MB, 2x $5 50min/50text, $0 FPL home phone,
Fido $5 4GB plan with a free tablet.

Switched to this plan since Nov 2016, couldn't be happier! After first bill I learned that the $36 is INCLUDING tax! This is even cheaper than my old grandfathered WIND holiday miracle plan, with LTE.

Good find, and yes, this deserves its own thread as the other ones have run their course or have become too garbled with different deals. That said, there is still some good info on the loyalty plans in the last expired thread - so signing up for this plan and switching to a richer loyalty plan after 6 months is the way to go, $50 sign up, $50 referral, sell for phone and you have already paid for a few months right off the bat.

What are people using for data when going to the US as it looks like the cheapest plan from Zoomer in the US would be an additional $40 for only 200MB of data. Right now I'm with Wind but I like that I can pay only $15 for the month for unlimited data.

My plan is $36 plus tax in Ontario

+1

Zoomer seems to work hard to provide great customer service and earn our loyalty - very impressive!

Not exactly sure how Wind works in the US, or its quality, but I usually use a local US provider or cheap travel sim.

I've used Roam Mobility when going to the US. It has worked well for me but it probably depends on where you are going and for how long.
