Fat Chance!

Zoomers cell phones are entry level phones - you are buying the plan, not the phone

If you want the P20 for $0 with a 2 year contract you have to sign up for something like the Bell $70 + $25.- plan

I'm waiting for the next 2-generations-behind flagship phone like when they had the G4.

They will probably have the G5 soon. That phone was a real turkey for LG. Even more of a turkey than the G4 was.
I am a Public Mobile customer.

What is this CARP membership stuff with Zoomer? Do I need to pay for this?

Are you using a Samsung device by any chance? I heard Samsung will come up with their own implementation of RCS, just not sure when...
Bell partnered with Samsung for their RCS release so it only works on Bell/Virgin S7/8/9 and A8 devices using the stock messenger.

Rogers partnered with Google for their RCS release which is basically compatible with every device using Android Messages.

Note that the two can't text between each other. It's only Bell to Bell or Rogers to Rogers. No Rogers to Bell.

That clears it up, thank you! Do you have it from the "horse's mouth" - ie tech support? I bet their front line reps have no clue what RCS even means

I knew if there was a way for Google to screw up they'd do it for sure, no surprise there. All this empty talk about RCS being SMS 2.0 is just that - empty talk. RCS will be dead before it even takes off... Back to SMS / MMS for me

Nah, I'm just quite the android enthusiast.

I made a ticket with Rogers last week and am still waiting for them to attempt to fix it (theoretically they just need to remove the RCS profile from their system). I just keep getting texts saying that they're working on fixing it. You're right about the reps though. I had to explain that Rogers actually supported it. If it doesn't pan out, I'm gonna contact Zoomer and escalate up the ladder until it can be resolved, since this is definitely a network feature.

RCS really is SMS 2.0, but leave it to the carriers to screw up something so simple.

Can you breakdown the $36 3GB plan?
Doesn't the promotion double the data (500MB) and then add the bonus 1GB? Where does the third GB of data come from?

That extra GB came from another promotion. So in this deal, we get 500MB + double + 1 GB + 1 GB = 3 GB.

What is not clear to me - once you sign up for thos promotional plan, does thispromotional plan eventually expire?
I assume one is good for two years at this rate - what happens after that?
