So couldn't they offer the P10 Lite with the $36.- plan if one pays the $50.- difference up front?
P10 lite is 75$ upfront on the 36$ plan (40$-10%)

You can pair the phone with the $40 ($36 after discount) plan on Zoomer's website.

Select the phone and click on "Pair with a plan and order".

Select a plan that cost $40/m and you'll see it's $75 on a 2 year term or $300 no term.

For people on month-to-month loyalty plan and wants P10 Lite can switch to the new $40.5 ($45 after 10% off) loyalty plan with 3GB data and sign up for 2 years contract with a free P10 Lite.

Don't lock yourself with a Zoomer contract if you need more 5GB data because Zoomer is a budget provider with low monthly payment and low data bandwidth plans. We have seen people forced themselves to sign up with Zoomer and get a $15 data SIM to supplement their monthly need. Those people was bad mouthing Zoomer for not flexible when they have to pay the device balance in order to leave Zoomer. If you need more than 5GB data per month, don't even consider or force yourself into a Zoomer contract.

FYI: Zoomer does not have vacation hold to keep your phone number while you are on the long vacation.
There is a $10 plan ($9 after 10% off) for 30 minutes, unlimited free incoming text and no voice mail. This is perfect plan to keep your phone number while you are away if you are on month-to-month. While you are away on this plan, your friends cannot leave a voice mail to use up your 30 minutes/m quota.

Depending on your phone account balance and how long you will be away, it may be cheaper to pay the balance and pay $9/m instead of paying $36/m while you are away. You are saving $27/m.

the current promotion runs till end of the month. Wonder if it will continue next month and if the phone selection (especially the FREE phone) will be better soon as well
I think that the current 3GB promo will continue because of the promo offered by other carriers. Cityfone needs to stay competitive.
New free phone other than the J3 will depends on what old phones Rogers wants to clear. IIRC, Zoomer offered the Samsung Core LTE for at least 2 years.

Finally decided to move my mom's account over to zoomer from speakout. Took a total of 12 minutes from the moment I dialed the number. I don't think I've ever experience completing anything in that time on the phone. Usually i'm on hold for at least 20 minutes before I even get to an agent.

zoomers CS is outstanding. I mean they are used to dealing with seniors that aren't aware of a lot of technology so they are super patient but they still are super chill regardless.

ya, they are great.. basically got 4 phones activated in the time as i would normally wait to get a hold of Rogers. They are nice too, not high and mighty like the big 3, like they appreciate your business. Too bad they don't have flagship phones, but I guess that isn't their niche.

Currently of Virgin unlimited province wide calling, 4gb of data. Was 40 bucks but now 45. I am thinking about switching to this plan, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. I just want to pay less for my monthly bill but I'm unsure of Cost/benefit ratio.

well it's 40 bucks taxes in. after the 2 years it's month to month and never goes up in price. you can use your old phone or the new one you get with zoomer. sell it whatever. uses Rogers network. works great. you have to weigh in if 1 less gb is ok for you. I know after 6 months you get opt for their loyalty package which I believe is unlimited calling and texting but you go down to 2 gigs. I think don't quote me on that.
