Checking the website at 11:45 pm (July 18th, 2018) :

3 phones an planes available: $22.50 moto e5 data and text only, $40.50 500 min, 3 GB(2GB+1GB), text, incoming with LG Q6, $72 for 2 lines with Samsung J3
Yikes that was cutting it close. Got the $36 plan yesterday and they changed it soon after.

Shipping was fast, got it overnight.
Just a quick question about porting numbers. So I should call them first to port and then make my account or the other way around?
And for anyone with Fido, should I call Fido just to make sure the bill is canceled? My bill for Fido starts on the 19th (I know I should have switched earlier) so I don't know if they'll be lenient or not. I haven't used any data so I hope so.

When you receive your shipment, just call Zoomer to port your number. You do not need to call Fido unless you want to check your device balance (if you have, and can be found online). You should receive a Fido email regarding cancellation soon. You final bill should be prorated, so you do not need to worry about your Fido billing date.

If you have provided the info to Zoomer, you can initiate the port process online as well under My account in the My Assisstant pop up window.

So I just got off chat with Zoomer. I can get J3 for free or $75 fee for Huawei P10 lite, or if I upgrade to $40.50/month plan I get the P10 lite for free. I almost never use up my data so I think I will just up for the $75.

Also, apparently they also have a limited stock of Iphone SEs available for $100 upgrade fee if anybody is interested (didn't see the iPhone SE on their webpage).

I guess SE is probably free with the $40.5 plan.

Is the $36 plan still on? The promo page only shows the $22.50 and $40.50 plan

It is still on. They never put the $36/3GB plan on their website.

Thanks for the response

What is the fundamental difference between the $40.50 and $36 plans? Is it 500 minutes vs 400 minutes as the data is the same at 3GB? Any other advantage in choosing the 40.50 plan over the 36 plan?

The $40.50 plan unlocks the phones that require minimum $45/mo. spend while the $36 plan sticks you with the inferior $40/mo. devices. However, you can always kick in some money to get one of the $45/mo. devices - I can't recall how much extra it is although the info is in this thread.

The $40.5 plan has unlimited incoming as well. Another difference is the loyalty plan. The $36 loyalty plan only has 2GB data and the $40.5 loyalty plan has 3GB data. If you need unlimited talk and enhenced voice mail, then $40.5 loyalty plan is good for you.

If you are going to pay extra moeny to get a phone on the $36 plan, then the $40.5 plan might be better. In 2 years, the $40.5 plan is $108 higher than the $36 plan. If you are going to pay $75 for P10 lite or $100 for iPhone SE, then the $40.5 is better overall as the phoen is free on this plan.

Thanks for highlighting the differences. A couple of follow up questions -

1) You mention "Loyalty plan" . How does that work?
2) What is the best "bang for the buck device" available free on the $40.50 plan

Zoomer has some loyalty palns, such as $36/2GB, $40.5/3GB, $45/4GB and etc. These plans have unlimited talk and enhenced voicemail. You can switch to one of these plans after 6 month and the only condition is that you cannot go with a cheaper plan that your phone subsidy linked with. For example, if you pay $75 and get the P10 lite with the $36 plan, you can go with any loyalty plan starting with $36.

For the $40.5 plan, you have the selection of Huawei P10 lite, LG Q6 or iPhone SE (very limited stock). They have simillar resale velue, but due to brand recognition, iPhone is the easiest to sell and Huawei is the hardest to sell. If you want to keep ot for your own use, iPhone SE and P10 lite are better than Q6.
