I have had this arrangement for more than 5 years. I too have a Panasonic cordless set connected to the ZTE plus a cheap cord phone for loss of power emergencies. It works great. During the early days, the reception would bounce around between green and yellow but Rogers must have tweaked the local towers and it is a solid green all the time now. Call quality never seemed to be impacted. $10 is about the right price for this product.
They sent me the newer ZTE model ZF723 (two antennas) which is loud. It is clear, but people on the other end are frustrated.
I don't feel that a swap of equipment would fix my problems.

Contact Zoomer tech support using your home phone. Let the tech support guy to hear how loud it is. They may have a solution or replace your faulty unit.
Are you still on the first 30 days?
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.

Sorry for going off-topic, but the newer Panasonic base stations can use the battery in the handset (as long as you leave it on the base) as a backup battery in the event of a power outage. So no longer necessary to have a corded phone (or a Bell landline for that matter), when the power goes out.

Just signed up for the $36 3GB/400daytime/unlimited evening+weekends/unlimited text promotional plan. Went with the Huawei P10 Lite for $75, a big step up over my current phone. Will be saving $100 a year over my Freedom plan and will have much better coverage.

Appreciate the help in this thread! Thanks guys.

*Edit: Can any current Zoomer customers using the Huawei P10 Lite confirm if it currently has or will be getting Android 8.0 Oreo?

Best time to talk to Fido is the time you know they have a good plan to offer.

If travelling to the USA, go with Roam Mobility or get a USA carrier for best bang for your buck. Roaming add-ons from Zoomer is fairly expensive.

I know that. The RFD gene in me won't allow me to throw away an otherwise fully working set of phones which I bought long ago at early adopter pricing. The old sets don't have battery backup on the base. It doesn't seem to make sense to buy a UPS just for the cordless phone base when I have a wired phone kicking around. This arrangement is fully adequate, I never lost home phone service during the 2013 ice storm.

Not unless you get Zoomer Loyalty plan ... then "3 voice messages" voice mail becomes "Enhanced" one .. and holds either 20 or 30 (or something like that) messages and for longer duration.
so i need to call in to get more voice mail space... what else i get?

My Home Phone service isn't great. I have a Panasonic cordless phone hooked up to the ZTE base unit and people on the other end are hearing me LOUDLY. Too loud! Tested by me as well and it is louder than average. Very Disappointing.
I'm sorry about that. I'm also using a Panasonic handset. Years ago my SIL had issues when calling us- turned out to be the cheap handset she was using= Vtec. Hoping tech can sort it out for you.
