Just chatted with Zoomer and they told me the following phones are available for $0 on the $36 - 3 gig plan. Which one has the best re-sale value?

Samsung Galaxy J3 prime
LG K4 2017
Samsung J1

or would I be better off just going with the cheapest flip phone?

Attempting to sell it at $220 without the unlock code. It's a tough world out there lol.
Which phone did you get?

Interesting!

I just finished a chat with Zoomers less than 5 minutes ago and the only phone available was the Galaxy J3 Prime.

so ask them for the unlock code. why are you being so difficult on this? didn't you say zoomed was horrible because they opened the box and now you moved all 4 lines to them? ask them for it lol. it's not hard

I just chatted with Zoomers and signed up for the plan.

Asked for the phone they sent to remain sealed but the CSR said they open it to make sure the phone has not been damaged and all the accessories are there.
A bit of BS in my opinion, but at least they are up front about it.

Which plan will you be porting out to? Is there currently a better deal than Zoomer?
Take a look at my signature. These are all my noteworthy providers. I was thinking of selling one of my Koodo plans but since Zoomer won't play ball, I had to use it for myself. It is rather costly overall when I consider the lost sales potential plus having to pay off the G4. The tab payment and what I got for the G4 is about about even. Had I stayed the duration, the G4 sales would have gone to subsidize the monthly fees. I will have to find some phone churning opportunities at Koodo to make up for this.
Koodo $40/6GB
Public Mobile 2016 fall promo, $23/1GB, $38/5GB
Fido $0.00/3GB+tablet

If you insert a SIM card from Telus or Bell, there is a message that will pop up asking you for the unlock code.
My LG G4 shipped with an unlock code just before the December change.
I picked up a Roam mobility sim for use in the USA. Will that work to trigger the unlock request on the phone? If I insert the Roam sim only to unlock it, will that do anything with Roam mobility plan?

Perhaps my safest bet would be to just find someone on Bell/Telus and borrow their sim to unlock.

If you need a non Rogers or affiliate SIM card, just pop by any mail kiosk and ask for a used SIM card. They probably have lots.

Great idea Will! Thank you.
I got a little shop up the street that does cell phone repairs. I've been meaning to bring a power supply over to get a new tip swapped onto it. Maybe I can solve t2 problems at once.

Just curious, are people actually successful in selling the unused phones?

Yep Kijiji is where it’s at. Got $150 for the Huawei GR5 in July 2017.

I’ve also sold my prior used iPhone 5 and 6 on Kijiji - no issue.

I got the samsung j3 , I believe it was the 2016 version. unlocked and sold on kijji a week later
3gb is enough for my daily needs, tons of browsing and maybe 1 video per month gets me just under 3gb

Is the dual SIM option of this P10 Lite working? Heard that some versions have the 2nd SIM disabled.

I got the iPhone 5S from Zoomer. Got a lot of offers ranging from $50 to $75 on Kijiji. I ended up listing it on eBay with buyer pays for shipping. My opening auction price was $150, it was sold a week later for $152 so not bad overall.
If it's not free, it's too expensive...
