You put a different carrier's sim in and then you will be prompted to enter the unlock code. I unlocked mine successfully.

Does the 50 dollar referral credit end today? When I signed up in Nov. the rep told me its until Dec 31st. When I called yesterday the rep said there is no end date? Anyone have any info on this? If it is today then I have to sign up the additional plan today.
i called in an hour ago.. spoke to a rep. I started the process for another account (me referring my wife), and that locked in the promo and the referral credit.
they said i could then call back next week to complete the process

they historically just keep rolling over promos, but they have end dates in place so they can pull the promo at any time

I am guessing it will roll over. I have to do the same refer a family member. Maybe putting a note on the account will prevent them from saying no in the future. Now its either Doro flip phone or G5.

Just spoke with customer service they said the 50 dollar referral and current promotions are extended until Jan 31st.

But she said you cant change you plan after 30 days? I thought you could change as long as the phone you picked stayed within it min plan requirements. Ex. G5 min plan is 40 ( was told 36 before).

So just to clarify you can refer anyone during your 2 year plan its not limited to the first 30 days. Also, it was added that you can BYOD but you wont get a referral credit and only 10% off with no term. With phone she said you get 10% off + 10% off and without you only get 10% off again not sure how accurate this is.

You can change your plan during the first 30 days because you can cancel and return your phone within the first 30 days.
No plan change is allowed between the second and the sixth months without paying your phone balance.
You can change plan to any loyalty plan after 6 months. I am not sure about switching to any current market plan. Early this year, IIRC, people on contract had to paid off their phone balance before allowed to switch to the $36 3GB market plan from the $36 2GB loyalty plan. Correct me if I am wrong.

whats the cheapest way to unlock the lg g5?
Call in to the provider and have them give you the unlock code. It's free due to the law passed sometime ago.

The $36 4GB/400 min plan is still available. Free Samsung J3 or LG G5 for 2 years contract only.
No contract = $36 500MB data/200 minutes only.
After 6 months, switch to $36 loyalty plan unlimited minutes + 4GB data + enhanced voicemail.

Until January 31, including $50 referral ($50 each), referee is limited to 1 referral hit referrer is unlimited, however, referral credits can not be used for devices or addons, only for regular monthly charges. Account number or telephone number needs to be provided during registration.
