Dammit, they have the S8 now. I just got the LG G5 a month and a half ago, and I HATE it.
You need to pay additional $350 to get the S8 on the $36 plan, which is expensive.

They had originally told me that about the G5 and the A8 as well, but a month after my contract expired, they called and offered either model for no charge with my plan.

Just got done talking with Zoomer to sign up a friend. Why would anyone go with Bell over Zoomer? The price is so much better with Zoomer. Is the service lesser quality? We are likely just going to pop their SIM card into his existing S8

They use the Rogers network so service would be similar. The difference is they don't have the latest phones and no higher usage plans like 8gb or 10gb.

I'm not streaming video, so 3-4GB is perfect...actually way more than I need.

1) Some people can't handle the fact the Zoomer has no physical stores
2) Some people are more gullible then others
3) Some people can't accept the fact the Zoomer doesn't negotiate (ie: any plan you are eligible for, you are told upfront)
4) Some people want something for nothing and often feel entitled
5) Some people have their preferences -- common sense be damned
6) Some people want to be treated poorly by their carrier (just too many horror stories from people of how Bell upsold them, sold their personal information to third parties, etc.)
7) Some people fear the unknown -- when you tell any Big 3 representative, their response is always never heard of Zoomer, Cityfone, etc.
8) Some people need the latest and greatest fashion accessory or gadget
9) Some people don't understand mathematics ($36/month verus $70/month) = $34 X 24 = $816 for 2 years. It is almost enough to buy most flagship phones. If the sell the phone from Zoomer that is about an extra $100-150 in their pockets to use towards a flagship.

There are tons of other reasons as well. But I agree with you, I suppose people just lack analytical skills in certain situations.

On another unrelated note: For those that are unhappy with the current phone offerings from Zoomer. There are other options as well, such as the G7 https://www.amazon.ca/Motorola-Unlocked ... way&sr=8-3. There is a thread about it in the hot deals main forum and it appears to be a descent budget phone.

Data point for others also on $36 Plan.

Finished 4th year with Zoomer, currently off contract.

Re-commitment on 2 year contract, $0 Device selection is:
Samsung J3
Motorola E5
Huawei P20lite

Needless to say, the selection is actually worse now than it was a month ago. Their lineup is getting incredibly stale and could really do with a refresh. Hope they get something going soon.

Yeah, we have to remember Zoomers target audience....the elderly. Those phones and the packages are great for their target audience. But for the rest of us, they are meant to use as a backup or to sell for a few bucks.

I'm getting the P20 Lite sent for my partner this week, who I just signed up. Hoping to get $200 for it on Kijiji....I think thats reasonable.

Didn't he say A8? That's still not bad IMO.

But if it actually is the S8 then that's phenomenal
