Thanks for that. So for most basic things like calling, texting and a little internet on my iPhone I should not notice much difference in speed coming from Koodo to Public Mobile.
Basically no difference on daily usage. One thing to notice is the extended coverage. If you travel to an area with only Rogers' towers, Koodo will give you extended coverage, but not PM.

$150 upfront for $36/4GB plan is $6.25/m for the next 24 months.
$0 upfront for $45/4.5GB: You are paying extra $9/m for the next 24 months.
Unless you need the extra 500MB data/m, the $150 upfront payment is cheaper.
I normally HATE paying extra for phones, I'm all about the $0 phones. But in this case it seems to me that ponying up the $150 for an A50 would likely be worth it vs. the free P20 lite. The A50 is a full year newer and offers better performance looking at the GSMArena benchmarks.

Question..

I have been with Zoomer since 2015 and my 2 yr plan is up for renewal next week. I am on the $36 4GB plan.

Any better deals than that?
If I chose to renew, what phone would you suggest I pick?

Thanks!

As far as I can tell, they don't offer any custom loyalty deals to anyone. Whatever has already been discussed is what they have.

You're not going to find a better plan AFAIK if you only need 4GB.

You can stay month-to-month on what you have now for the flexibility but if you think you're not going to change your mind, re-up on your same plan and get a free phone to sell for $100-$150.

I'm currently month-to-month on the $36/4GB plan, but don't use a lot of data. Does Zoomer offer a 1GB or 2GB plan for a cheaper price?

I'm on the $27 loyalty plan (unlimited, 1GB)

I think it is still available.

When switching to the $27 loyalty plan (after 2 years), does that come with a free phone?

Not to thread crap in the Zoomer thread, but have you considered the alternatives to Zoomer for low-data plans?
There's Public Mobile (Telus) and Lucky Mobile (Bell) that both have $25/month plans with 1GB of data (@ 3G speed when setup for autopay). The difference between the 2 is that with Public you can get an additional $2-off/month (i.e. $23/month) or with Lucky you get "unlimited" reduced-speed data (128 Kbps) once you've hit your monthly 1GB limit. There are threads for both services here on RFD, so search for them to get more info. Also, these are pre-paid plans, so you can cancel at any time.

You get a free phone if you sign another 2 years contract. The free phone for the $27 will be cheaper phone than teh phone for the $36 plan.

Isn't the A70 just $100 on the $40 ($36) plan? Might as well shell out the extra $30 for a much better model.

Oops, nevermind, I might be thinking of the A50. But still worth the extra $30?

A50 is $150 upfront for the $36 plan. $100 for $40.50 plan.
