Guys need 3 lines BYOD don't need phones.I have 3 questions so far

1. Should I go for this plan 3 x36? everyone gets 3GB data or I should get freedom mobiles's 5GB option for 50x3?

2. Can BYOD be a chance to lower 36 or take phone, do not take the phone it is 36month?

3. How do I port my number from Telus?

It shows on the page 2gb for 36$ and on top it says “includes 1gb bonus”. So is it 3 total or 2 total? Is the bonus for ever or just 2 years.?
It sure reads like 2GB total.
If it is 3GB it could be written better.

It says also
8. 1 GB promotional bonus applies with a 2-yr term on in-market Individual wireless plans from $40/mo to $95/mo and $80/mo Family Data Share Plan. 1 GB promotional bonus included above and not eligible for Double minutes, texts and data bonus. Other offers cannot be combined.

Which seems odd

I could not get them to budge. They said the promotion is mainly to pull in new customers.
Also couldn't get them to waive my remaining balance (it was small though, 2 months left)... BUT they did throw in a free case!
maybe it'll make resale a little easier?
oh well. something's better than nothing.

1. Freedom is not a direct competitor due to its weak network coverage.

2. You cannot get the 3GB plan with BYOD. You need to get a (free) phone with 2 year contract. Just sell them on Kijiji.

3. When you receive your package, call Zoomer to port in your Telus number.

1) It depends on your needs. Freedom is only useful if you stay in the metropolitan centres only (in your home zone), outside your zones you are roaming, and connection can be suspect at sometimes. Only certain phones will have access to their LTE network -- your current phones may not be compatible. Zoomer uses the Rogers network, so anywhere Rogers has coverage you will have coverage and get LTE wherever Rogers LTE is available.

2) BYOD gets you nothing with Zoomer except the 10% off $40/month with 500MB data. To get $36 for 3 GB (plan is $40 with 10% discount), you need to sign 2 year agreement which includes subsidized phone. If you don't need the phones, choose the crappiest flip phone to lower your device subsidy should you want to switch to another carrier or get the J3's to sell for $100 each or so. Obtain referral ($25), switch one account over. Switch other two accounts and refer yourself ($50 + $50), you will need to activate new and separate lines on each subsequent lines in order to get the referral bonuses.

3) After you receive your phones, call Zoomer to activate and let them know you want to port your number from Telus. You need your Telus account number and PIN, and you may want to have the IMEI # of your phone as a precaution. When Zoomer intiates port request, it serves as your cancellation notice to Telus. DO NOT CALL TELUS to let them know you are switching as your account must be active and in good standing (no outstanding balances) in order to switch smoothly. Wait 5 mins to 1 business day for text about porting success.

By switching to Zoomer, you have the potential to profit $125 to $425 in your pocket. Loyalty plan eligible after 6 months with Zoomer ($45 for 4GB -- plan is $50 - 10% discount). I just stick with the $36 for 3GB as this is better, lots of free wifi around...

Has anyone gotten more than 4gb on a shared plan?

My initial 2 year contract just expired and they offered me 2 individual lines at 3 gb each. I asked if they could do it on a shared plan with 6gb but they kept saying 4gb is the maximum for a shared plan. Makes little sense to me.

Agree - make no sense
Loyalty family plan $72 1000 CW minutes + 4GB data.
Regular family plan $72 800 CW minutes + 3GB data (Less than 6 moths with Zoomer)
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Koodo $25 plan, PM $38 5GB plan, PM $8 plan to replace Speakout,
Zoomer loyalty family plan for 4 lines $117/6GB, $0 FPL home phone

They only offer an extra GB data on the $36 plan. I think it is the most popular plan.

I'm sure it is most popular but the shared plan works for me (wife has no wifi at work but I do so I don't use much data). When I first signed up for the shared plan they offered a "bonus" gb at that time, same with the individual. Now there is a bonus on the bonus but it's not being extended to the shared plan. Even if it's 5gb that would be nice.

Just the same feeling as most of the existing customers who have the 2GB loyalty plan.

I think your best bet is to wait.

Referral works for both? Thanks. J3 resale value higher than J1?

Referral only works when you create a new account, not add a line to your existing account.
