Can someone please enlighten me the advantage of getting the Family share plan ($72) for 2 lines vs. just getting 2 separate smartphone plans ($36x2 lines)? If seems if you just get 2 separate smartphone plans you actually end up with more data for the same price.
In the past, the Family Share Plan worked well in a situation where one person used quite a bit of data (or minutes) and the other did not. Other than that it always seemed to make more sense to get two separate plans - if only for the extra referral credit.
Have a Question? Don't be afraid to ask.

At a time the family plan made more sense, like what @bvit6667 said is the reason why I picked the family plan for the 2 lines. Now with this great offer for the single plan, the family plan is only good (in my opinion) if you need more than 2 lines.

Honestly I have no idea why it was given to me when I first read this thread I figured I would try online chat that did not work I then sent an email later that night and the same guy that I was chatting with called me and said he talked with his superior and agreed to do a one time change for me perhaps I asked before an onslaught of people did I don't think I did anything special
Are you referring to getting the upgrade to the 3GB plan from the 2GB plan without triggering a device balance payment.

Should be OK. If it does not arrive on time, you can temporary switch to a cheaper PM plan before port in.

You'll get it well before April.

I ordered the phone on a Friday, it shipped out on Monday (Vancouver) and arrived on Tuesday (Calgary). Ported from Public Mobile on a Saturday morning - it took all of 15 minutes. Don't cut it so close by April 3 but you should be able to get everything done quickly.

You activated your plan a few days into the billing cycle. That means your monthly cost and data are prorated for this month.

I read the entire thread and I'm pretty sure I'll go for the $36 deal with a new phone number (GR5 seems to be the best choice to use and I already have someone to refer me). Since it's been a million years since I have done that, is there a way to choose your phone number? Or even change it if they assign you a number you don't like?

IIRC, Zoomer (Cityfone) does not let you pick your number because the SIM activation is done by someone at the back office.
You can port your number free after receiving your phone and SIM card.
There is a number change fee of $25.

Doubt it, but anyone want to take over my 4GB loyalty plan?
Might have better luck in BST.
