What would be the best free phone for $36 plan? Or should I just pay $150 and get the A5?
Don't pay $150 for an A5 at Zoomer.
But get an Koodo A5 at WM on small tab($240) and get $400 WM GC. They are giving you money to get the Koodo A5.
Get the Samsung J3 and sell it for $100.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Koodo $30 plan, PM $41 6GB plan, PM $8 plan to replace Speakout,
Zoomer loyalty family plan for 4 lines $117/6GB, $0 FPL home phone

The $36 for 3 GB looks like really good deal, definitely an upgrade over my Fido plan.
I still have a few questions though and with 2416 posts, even searching with keywords brings up a few pages.:
Did anyone have any issues switching from Fido to Zoomer?
Any connection issues in the Hamilton area?
Can I choose to not have a free phone and have a discount on the plan instead?
If the above is not possible, is the Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime the best free phone to get with the intention of selling it? How much would it realistically sell for?
The device unlock fee is $50 on their FAQ, I'm assuming this is outdated info?
For OnePlus users, does it show LTE in the notification tray with mobile data on? I know with Fido it shows 4G/4G+ even though it's connected to LTE when looking through Phone Information by dialing *#*#4636#*#*

I'm already with zoomer, I don't want the hassle of signing up with another carrier.
I might just pay $75 to get the Huawei P10 lite when I renew my plan. or sell the J3 :)

Can I choose to not have a free phone and have a discount on the plan instead?
Zoomer deal Summary:
Current market plan
2 years contract $36 market plan with free phone
- 400 CW daytime minutes + 3GB data + unlimited MMS
- Need to sign a 2 years contract and get a free phone
- Cancellation within 2 years - pay the device account balance.
- There is no monthly phone payment like Koodo tab. Zoomer will write down your phone account by $10.42/m($250/24)
- Data overage is 5 cents/1MB data at 1MB increment.
- If you are on contract and want to switch to this market plan, you need to pay your device balance, sign another 2 years contract and get a free phone. If you need 3GB data, it is better to switch to the $40.50 loyalty plan.

No contract month-to-month $36 market plan = no free phone
- 200 CW daytime minutes + 500MB data

Loyalty Plan after staying with Zoomer for 6 months
- Enhanced voicemail
- Data overage is 2 cents/1MB data at 1MB increment.
- You can switch to any loyalty plan after 6 months without paying your device balance as long as your monthly payment remains the same or higher.

$36 loyalty plan - unlimited CW minutes + 2GB data + unlimited MMS
$40.5 loyalty plan (NEW) - unlimited CW minutes + 3GB data + unlimited MMS
$45 loyalty plan - unlimited CW minutes + 4GB data + unlimited MMS
$54 loyalty plan - unlimited CW minutes + 5GB data + unlimited MMS
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Koodo $30 plan, PM $41 6GB plan, PM $8 plan to replace Speakout,
Zoomer loyalty family plan for 4 lines $117/6GB, $0 FPL home phone

I might be blind but I've looked and can't seem to find it or to change it... has anyone changed their method of payment from credit card to using their bank account directly?

I don't even think it's possible, if it is, you'll have to call in

Where do you check the device balance and/or the expiry of the 2 year contract?

this is probably just an ongoing offer rather than "promotion" since they have extended for like what? from march to july lolz

but after 2 months usage so far so good. data and call quality are good (expected using rogers network). I had the $49 8GB plan but at the end I only use 3GB or less so saving $20 per month im happy
