Got the Huawei GR5 (but the CSR said they had a limited stock, so he had to check first). Samsung J3 was also available.

It means Rogers still has some old phones in stock. Zoomer/Cityfone is just like Rogers' outlet (junkyard?).

Just a question re: porting in: If I'm porting in both my wife's number and mine, can I set up 2 accounts and get $25 referral credit for each account using the same referrer? (sorry if this is a N00b question)

Yes. $25 to your account, $25 to your wife's account, and $50 to the referrer's account.

You can setup 2 accounts. Get referral for the first account and then use your first account to refer the second account. You will have $50 in your first account and $25 in your second one.

People have tried this before with variable success. Worth it to try though. YMMV.

Why leave money on the table?
Use your referrer to open the account 1 to get $25. Then, use the account 1 to refer to account 2 for $50 (account 1 as referrer and account 2 as referee) Total $75 instead of $50.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $37 5GB, $13 250MB, 2x $8 50min/50text, Fido $5 4GB data only plan,
Zoomer $36 loyalty 4GB plan, $0 FPL home phone

Better to do the switch when they have new phones or $50 referral credit.

True, but I'm limited by:
- $36 plan good until Mar 31
- Wife's 90 day plan with PM running out in March
- My Chatr autopay credits need to be used up

...so I don' t have much choice. :(

Maybe you will be lucky enough to see one of these deals when you do the switch.

You can ask them to ship out the phone on March 20th so that you're not paying double bills for the full month of March. Test the phone service for the few days after you get the phone, then port out your PM accounts 2/3 days before end of your billing period.
Koodo: $60/10GB
Zoomer: $45 4GB LTE Loyalty Plan

You can call now and ask them to activate the service any day within the promo window and they will do it. No need to call in on a specific day. Their customer service is great for little things like this.
