No. Here is the reason why.
1. You need 2 years contract in order to get $36 400 minutes + 4GB data. You get only 200 minutes + 500 MB data for no contract.
2. Without a free phone, Zoomer cannot tie you to 2 years contract.

Zoomer will not care if you can use your Zoomer SIM card on your current phone and give your free phone to your neighbor.
But you need 2 years contract in order to get the 4GB data. PERIOD. No if or but.

But you can get a cheapest Zoomer plan on month-to-month and "sit" on it for 6 months. After 6 months, switch to the $36 loyalty plan with unlimited minutes + 4GB data on month-to-month. I did this option over a year ago and paid about $100 for 6 months of service which I did not used while I was on another provider.
"sit" means just pay the monthly plan fee and not using it.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $37 5GB, $13 250MB, 2x $8 50min/50text, Fido $5 4GB data only plan,
Zoomer $36 loyalty 4GB plan, $0 FPL home phone

So I can sign up for the 2 yr contract, pop the sim in my current phone and good to go. Don't even need to take the zoomer phone out of the box?

You can tell Zoomer to leave your SIM card out of your phone. Otherwise, Zoomer will test the phone and leave your SIM card in the phone.

Assuming your current phone uses the same size SIM card as the phone from Zoomers.

So... have people realized that zoomer is for senior citizens? You get a subscription to Zoomer magazine [For adults > 50] and a free membership to CARP, which is "CARP is Canada’s largest advocacy association for older Canadians.".

Kind of funny, a nice benefit and some good deals as being a CARP member.

With this plan, would this work with Rogers to Rogers? Or it doesn't qualify?

Isn't this Rogers to Rogers, family to family stuff so last century? Most plans these days are unlimited daytime calling anyway. To answer your question, no this service is not Rogers even though it runs on the Rogers network.

For those who have been with Zoomer > 2 years and had been on a loyalty plan, when you renew for another phone at the end of your term, are you booted off loyalty for 6 months before you can return to it?

Not at all, you can stay on whatever plan you're currently on. You just get a new phone and commit for another 2 years, as simple as that

I'm looking to renew my 2 year contract as my current $36 plan is expiring soon. What is the current phone choices I can get with the plan and which one is the best? I am not looking to resale.

how much is this better than the $36 plan?
