10 YEAR OLD GST RETURN

Hi. I received a call from the government of canada. They were enquiring about GST RETURN of a company i had a long time ago that has been closed for 8 years. They ask for me to do the return for the year 2009 for june and sept. I said its been a while and company closed down. I also promised to do return. After researching, i found out that GST Taxes have a statue of limitation of 6 years. The company lost money and didn't do much business. So should i file the return or should i ignore it? i feel that they are asking me to do something that is over the statue of limitations.

There is no statue of limitations on failure to file tax returns. Only on filed and assessed returns. Usually the followup will be a legal requirement letter to file within 30 days.
