10 year old LG front load washer - possible leaking solenoid valve - DIY vs Repair Man?

lately, a couple times a month, I find about 2 inches of water sitting in my LG washer. I believe the solenoid valve has a slow leak. I watched a youtube video and it seemed pretty easy to replace - just curious what you would do and what a repair would charge for this?

I had a similar issue and went to nearby PartSource and did it myself. It was fairly easy task and you could do it yourself.
Additionally I bought a water collection tray under the washer as a safety net for future, since my laundry is on the first floor.

But unfortunately the leak didn't stop. And when I paid bit more attention, it was coming randomly at times from the detergent tray as I could trace the water from the tray once. Because it's hard to sit in front of the washer to identify the leak since it happens at random.

Ended up getting rid of the machine because 1 to 200 bucks labor plus parts and then they say depending on your use 10 years is quite a life to get out of these things.

Best of luck, hopefully you are able to resolve your issue

I had the same leak on my LG front load washer. Approx $400 for the repair guy to fix. Except mine was not a slow leak. The washer would start and the water would keep flowing from the valve.

My detergent tray has water in it also... is that the flow, thru tray into bin?

Tray coming in water is by function but it shouldn't come out from the tray.
I read that it may be due to the tray not cleaned or not using HE detergent among other things.
I was not able to figure out but that was the issue for me, not the slow drip through valve which is commonly suggested
