I highly recommend this unit. The extra capacity is well worth it. I have shredded a ton of paper on mine and have only hit thermal overload once.
Koodo $40/6GB
Public Mobile $40/15GB, lot less with rewards

The OP is a strange unit... max width of 6.5" so it can't take a standard paper unless you fold it in half?

Maybe if you shred a lot of sticky pad notes.....

When I empty the bin, I scatter everything. It would take a lot of dedication to piece things back together.

If anyone has anything to share, any thoughts on the 123ink version or Amazon basics?

My cousin has one of those and I read online that it does the job. I end up finding a Fellowes MicroCut unit on Kijiji/FB Marketplace for 35. Heck if that last me a year or 2 I've won already. The unit retails for $150

Costco has a basic 6 page micro cut Fellowes unit for $68.99. Not bad for a home office?

We've been using a Royal 1212X (from Costco) for years without complaint. I'm aware that microcut is more secure, but we're not shredding national secrets, and like the fact that it can also do things like credit cards.

Had the amazon basics 8 sheet strip cut and gave it to a friend to switch for this microcut model. Rarely shred stuff, but when youre shredding a credit card, you definitely dont want it in strips. No comment for cross cut on my end

Honestly, except if you have some highly sensitive content, any cut is good. Many peoples don't shred their papers and who is going to waste (a lot) of time to rebuilt your papers, even if it's the old straight cut.
Pourquoi pas?
