That seems so much easier than getting a caulk gun and using the WAP stuff. Not to mention some bad reviews on that WAP stuff..
Have you used this rope caulk personally before? Thanks a lot for the suggestion!

Yes. It really is like plasticine. There are little "ropes" and you can put em together to fill a larger gap/void.
