I love ebates, I book all my work trips at hotels.com, got 9% back on a 700$ 3 night hotel stay, which I get reimbursed 700$ for. I make 63$ in ebates cash, and every 10 nights on hotels.com is a free night.

It says it's only 6% if you use the Hotels.com rewards, so I don't think you'll get the 3 nights counted towards your 10 if you got 9%:

Hotel Stays without Rewards 9.0%

i think that refers to if you use the hotels rewards systems over the hotels.com rewards, none the less, im happy with 6% as well.

I'm pretty sure it's referring to the hotels.com free nights rewards. I've never been able to get hotel rewards (SPG, IHG etc.) when the room was booked by a 3rd party like hotels.com, expedia, booking.com etc.

I know this may not be the best place, but can someone explain how you get cashback through ebates? I've tried using it with multiple purchases over the last year and I just logged in to see $0.00 lifetime cashback.
Is my process right?
I go to ebates, login, click the store I'll shop at, it says "You're done its that simple" and redirects me to the site where I make the purchase.

I've pretty much written off ebates because of the lack of return, but 15% is significant cashback. Any tips anyone can share of where I may be going wrong?

Just make sure to navigate through the page that pops up only. Sometimes the cashback gets stuck somewhere so they have an easy claim form. It usually credits you instantly. Have you gone through their help avenues yet because obviously that's the first step. They have good customer service. If they can't sort you out, I'd say just make a new account.

For the record, all my purchases works with adblock on Chrome/macbook but ya, if it's not working, definitely worth disabling.

Just download the chrome plugin, makes it way easier and you don't have to go to the site first. Also, if you make a purchase that you think you should have gotten cashback on but didn't, you can fill out a cashback claim on the site - 9 times out of 10 they give you the cashback anyways.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'll try disabling uBlock, add the chrome extension and refute any claims I don't get cashback on. Knowing that it credits you instantly will be helpful because I've been going on the "if it doesn't show up right away, we're waiting for the retailer to send us the details" on their site. Figured that takes days.

Again, thanks everyone!

Damn, I book pretty often for work and thought using Hotwire (for higher end rooms but for less $$$) with my grandfathered Capital One cashback card and getting reimbursed was awesome by itself.

I didn't even think of Ebates...I'm not a true RFDer at all; should be stripped of my RFD badge!

Def going to use hotels.com now with that info you provided rocking23nf, thanks!
