1lb butter for $3

Is this a good price? I didn't post it because it might be high. I only remember seeing butter prices always around $4.5.

Thanks.

Yes, that's usually a good sale price.

Everyday "sale" price here at SDM is $3.50, similar price at Wal-mart, grocery stores at least $4 unless on occasional sale at $3.

Because of marketing boards, you won't in general find it below $3 in Canada.

Best I've seen is $2.88, so $3 is a good price.

Thats correct, thats my stock up pile price... For some reason I have a memory of $1.99 but i could be wrong.

$2.88 for Unsalted or Salted Gay Lea Butter is what I usually get.

No frills regularly sells " I can't believe it's not butter " or Imperial for 1$ for 1 lb. 3$ a lb isn't a deal.

I stock pile at 2.88 or $3 especially if no salt version is available (that is often more expensive)

Touché, no frills also has those brick butters for 1$ a lbs every few weeks. Don't quote me but I believe it's called Lactancia ?

Hmm...since the name of the first product gives a clue that it may not be butter, you can't really compare. :)

Yeah, $3 is a good price (says the guy who often buys butter for someone else).

I'll double check tomorrow. I'm fairly certain it's the 1lbs brick.

$2.88 is the cheapest i've seen 1lb bricks of butter. That's usually no-frills or food basics sale price. The big stores (superstore, zehrs, sobeys) will sometimes go on sale to $2.99 at best. With $3.99 being a more normal sale price.

Costco sometimes goes to $2.49. I will buy it at that price and freeze it. Not a huge consumer of butter anymore, so it works for me.

Costco (Ontario) currently is selling Sealtest salted butter for $2.59 for 1 lb. $3 a lb is my max. price and in the GTA, it seems someone has butter on sale every week for $3 or less so there is nothing hot about this price.

No Frills does not sell butter for $1 a lb. For that price, it would be margarine.

Not a chance. My girlfriend lives right next to a No Frills, and I can tell you with absolute certainty they have never sold 1lb bricks of butter (of any brand) for a dollar. They're usually $2.88 when they go on sale.

Next time I see it on sale I'll snap a pic. I'm almost certain I've seen them for 1$, on clear out.

Unless it was past the best before date, you're imagining things. The price of 1 lb of butter hasn't been that low in decades.

Definetly possible :D . I'll post up when I see it. I'm located in a small town, we get some odd random sales that weren't in the flyer. Not complaining... But could explain the cheaper price or I'm imagining things lol
