What a horrible promotion. Anything newsgroups have you can find them on file sharing sites. Don't waste your time

Newsgroups are still far and away my preferred method to find things. A buddy and myself split on a usenetserver subscription. I far prefer it over torrents (particularly, no worries about throttling or eavesdropping).

Newsgroups would be my second choice, however $40 for 1TB is ridicolous. I much rather pay far less with unlimited downloading for a lesser retention. Anything over 120 days and I'm better off grabbing it off file sharing sites.
