I used Tangerine for both. Assuming you have an external account connected to your Tangerine.

Dont forget to schedule to move the money out on May 1 so that you can use their offer again later.

Wife got the offer but her app bugged out; when she clicked on the "continue" button under Insights to accept, the app froze and now the offer is nowhere to be found. Balls.

Luckily, I got the offer via email and managed to activate.

I moved my $ out of Tangerine beginning of Nov then activated this offer in Dec.
Hopefully i get the 2%

To bypass the $30k limit from EQ you can pull from Tangerine, the only downside is it will hold onto the money for 5 business days but you gain interest right away.

This is BS! don't fall for it. My wife opened chequing and savings account, transferred her pay over, we transferred all our savings over and we've gotten maybe 0.001% interest. Gotta read the fine print but it's false advertisement. YOU DON'T get 2%!

After all the time and effort we put in to transfer everything, spoke to a customer service rep and they basically said, its in the fine print. I want all of our money out of there now.

I called them last week on offers and was told there was none for me. This offer appeared today.

Aside, are you talking about the new customer 2.2% EARNMORE offer? If she didnt enter the earnmore promo code, a call/secure msg to tangerine can have it applied to the account, if she used someone’s orangekey then unfortunate it doesnt stack

This was back in Oct/Nov when they had the promo for a new chequing account get $300 and savings account 2% interest for 5 months. She didn't use any orangekey.

As with all banking offers, have to follow exactly what's in the fineprint, but with past Scotiabank offers people reported not receiving the bonus. I'm assuming you could start a complaint with the Tangerine Ombudsman similarly to Scotiabank. My Scotiabank request was resolved within a week by the Ombudsman.

Dammit Tangerine. Called them a few days ago. I was on a 1.6% rate. Argued that La Capital savings had 2% (and even 2.5 on Celi), to no avail. "Can't do better than 1,6%". The games they play....
