Yeah, pay IN STORE rather than paying at the pump.

Just picked up 5. Any way to get it so that the refunded 5 cents does not go back to the gift card balance?

If you pay at the pump with a gift card and fuel savings card, you can only fuel up to how much you have on the gift card and then the machine will refund you 5 cents per litre back onto the gift card. I ended up having a few gift cards with $2 on each card. I never tried paying in store.

Here's what I do, take the price per liter, minus 5 cents, divided by $50, fuel up to that amount then go inside and pay to fully utilize the gift card at once

Eg 1.209 - 0.05 = 1.159
50/1.159=43.1406 L

For those who prefer to pay at the pump, use the GC until there's only, say, $5 left. This way you will only have like $0.20 left on the GC after the last $5 fillup.

The staff always refused to use my fuel saving card when I pay with gift cards...
How do I use both cards when paying at the pump please? Thanks!

some attendants don't allow as they don't know.
I got refused one time, but was successful at same pump, so YMMV based on attendant.

This is why I'm switching from Esso. Esso - instead of accepting the $.05 off card at the pump - forces you to go into the store - stand in line - then pray the cashier even knows how to ring up the discount card. Then, they somehow neglect to give me bonus points. Oh, and their online system to manage the points card is gawd awful. It'll take me a couple years of free car washes to get rid of my accum. Esso points.

Been waiting for gas cards to go back on "sale" since I used up the cards I bought the last time. :') Bought the maximum 5 this time. Hopefully this will last me until the next sale lol

Is it just me or anyone else in the Edmonton area experiencing that premium fuel outside of Costco costs about 25% higher???

On a more related note, this deal is essentially "giving away" the fuel savings card for free. Since Costco MC already have 2% fuel CB, thus making it unattractive if you are buying just for the GC and not for the $25 savings card.
