2003 Nissan Altima burning oil.

Ok so I have a 2003 Nissan Altima 4 cylinder 2.5S. I have a reason to suspect it’s burning oil. I’m currently running Mobil 1 full synthetic. It’s at 228900km (at the time of this writing). No oil leaks on the bottom and no blue/gray smoke from the exhaust.

I would usually add 1/2 quart every 2000km (or so). After reading so many posts online; it could potentially be the exhaust manifold issue.

Has anyone experience similar issue with Nissan altimas from 02-06 or even other nissan vehicles from those years?

You would get better luck posting in a Nissan/Altima forum. 0.5q/2000km isn't terrible per say and many older cars burn that amount of oil. I would just leave it as if it's the piston rings, it's just not financially feasible.

I stopped using mobil1 for this very reason, switch to a different brand like Castrol.

2003? You are lucky it's still alive. Even feeding it 1L/week wouldn't be so bad.
