2014 Honda Pilot

Folks,

Anyone know the mileage life of a MAF sensor on a 2014 Honda PIlot? Its just under 100km on the odometer. What are the symptoms of a bad MAF sensor?
Please thank me if you find this helpful

check engine light, low power, hesitation, uneven idle (in some cases).
I had one going in Nissan after 100k, but that was along time ago.

Unplug it and drive the car around for a little while and see if you notice a difference in performance. If you had a scanner, you run live data and chart the g/s at various rpms. A half-decent scanner that can do this is better than throwing new parts at the car.

FWIW, my car is at 272k kms on its original MAF. I cleaned it at 200k kms and it didn't make a difference - I don't think it was dirty to begin with. OTOH, I did have to replace all four of my oxygen sensors at that time.

If the sensor is bad, your ECM won't have a good sense of how much oxygen is being fed to the cylinders and you might experience hesitation, jerking, or rough idle. If the MAF fails, you should get a CEL; if it's faulty, you would just get poor combustion as your fuel mix will either be too rich or too lean. A lot of sophisticated engines can rely on information from the forward oxygen sensors to help the ECM trim fuel supply so knowing the LTFT levels is useful to diagnose exactly what's going on. Again, a good scanner will include LTFT levels in its live data menu.

Good luck.
