2016 Honda CR-V EX-L model for $43,260 @ 0.99% for 4 years

Hello folks,

I am in the market for a SUV was finally narrowed it down to the CR-V and the missus wants the EX-L trim. Did some shopping around and found the following deal in Brossard, QC:

$36,585 before tax for a total price of $ 43,260 financed at 0.99% for 5 years. The monthly payments come out to around $500.

What do you think of this deal? I think that I can negotiate the price down by about $1000 but that is not guaranteed as this model seems to have such great demand.

Please advise if you think if there is further room for haggling on this one.

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest looking at Touring trim first. I have no idea about diff between 2016 CRV EX-L and Touring features but I had finalized the 2015 CRV EX-L last year. Upon comparing with the touring trim, price difference was not much but the features were a lot more..even more than RDX at that time. Finally leased an Odyssey but definitely will be my next car when my second lease comes up for renewal.

Am I the only one who thinks that 40k+ for a CRV is insane?

That is definitely ridiculous. The price keeps on getting higher and higher, no wonder they are introducing a smaller one (HRV). Its better to just buy a year old Lexus NX or RDX for same price.

No more insane than driving a $50k+ minivan (Odyssey).

CR-V EX-L model for $43,260
Ridiculous... It's a CRV! just a Crv
People are really willing voluntarily to pay that much money instead of just getting an RDX? sick

You can argue whether you think a CR-V is worth $40k+ after taxes and fees, but a base RDX starts at $41,990 before taxes and fees.

Are you making a down payment? Otherwise, there seems to be something off with the math.
60 months of payments x 500 = $30,000, and that's before taxes and interest expense

This is how a thread like this usually goes here at RFD a lot of talking out of the butt instead of helping the op lol You should be able to get the crv ex-l way cheaper that 43k+ though. At least 5k less.

Unhaggle is showing me invoice and taxes(Ontario 13%) $38000 otr. So I wouldn't pay more than $38000 otr financed at .99% for 60 months. Good luck! If you pay cash it would be $36500 otr.

Why? The damn Jeep Cherokee is $65,000 loaded and of inferior quality and maker. I drove one (Cherokee) and the thing is stiff and feels so ordinary... I swear the Kia Cerato feels so much better and more fun to drive.

Bought a 2015 CRV EX-L for about $500 above invoice pricing. Invoice price = 31518

Go for the Touring model, kinda regret not getting it.

Let's say on avg you keep a car until it's about 15 years old and 300k kms. Buying a 3 year old SUV @ 34k taxes in it will only last you 12 years while the new one under warranty for the first 3 to 4 will last 15 years. 4 suvs will last you 60 years new and 5 used suvs will last you 60 years. So when quoting a 34k used vehicle you should include the extra car you'll have to buy in your lifetime, in otherwards you add 34k / 4 years = ~8k

So buying used all the time one could say it really is 34k+ ~8k= 42k. The person who buys a new car all the time is also under bumper to bumper warranty at minimum for 12 years of the 60 years.

Just another way of looking at it.

I think it seems quite high. That price is hitting Pilot territory and is only slightly less than what I was quote for a Highlander.
I was quoted for a Toyota Highlander XLE AWD @ 45,000 OTR which makes this price seems crazy to me

Just bought 2016 CRV EXL model in Edmonton. Invoice price: 31797.00, Freight: 1695.00, Tire n AC tax: 100.00 total 33592.00 plus 5% GST (Alberta) minus 1500.00 cash purchase = 33771.60. I used this as my bargain price. I ended up paid $34500.00 for OTR price. This Saturday I will pick up the car. My conditions: block heater, secure tire lock nuts, carpet floor mats & less than 25km. Hope this helps anyone who is looking for 2016 EXL CRV.
