this is a brand new car, <100km and not registered ?

Factory credit back then was $5000 and this offer merely showing the dealer would have took the credit and now pass on to you without any loss to the dealer. If you really want to pursue this car, it would be a fair offer of $17,000 - $17,500 + taxes at most, given that would be the equivalent of 2 yrs of depreciation.

This link shows when the dealer was advertised for the clearing of 16 + 17 program at the time

It's an ok deal. that or the optima would be the same price. It's a good deal of all you care about is size and price. There's probably 1-2k more you could get off the car. Just make sure your including freight/pdi in the above calc. Problem is stock, you would need to go on autotrader or have a nice dealer tell you where one is as dealers probably wouldn't dealer trade an rdr or demo

Have a 2016 Sonata Sport Tech. Happy with the car, nice ride all around.

Two things to keep in mind:

1. Hyundai has backed down and said that this car will never get Apple CarPlay despite promises when the car launched
2. The 2018 model has been slightly redesigned to you are buying an outdated style if you care about that at all.

I'm assuming this is a brand new, never registered car because I found it on Hyundai Canada's website under "Build & Price". I haven't actually called my local dealer to ask if they have any in stock.

The price of $19874 that I quoted above does not include freight. So do you think a fair price is $17000-17500 + tax + freight? I think my local Kelowna BC Hyundai dealer also has a BS $499 "admin fee" too.

Would you ask for all the fluids to be changed considering it might have been sitting on the lot for two years? Other than oil what other fluids need to be changed?

never understood why they did this, isn't it the same head-unit in newer models (2017)?

I thought you have a dealer is offering you that.

why don't you first call your dealers in your region to see if they are still selling MY16 Sonata GL. No point in speculating and see what they are asking for their 2 yrs old inventories.

For sure, all fluids will need to change out and check the tires too for flat spotted as well ... if this car does exist.

I doubt they have inventory, you'd still have to add taxes and other fees, but if you can get it at that price.. its a great deal!
