2017 Acura NSX compared to the original NSX (Ignition Episode Video)

The Acura NSX is certainly not a slow car – with 573 hp, it’s anything but. However, we’ve been waiting for this car for almost a decade. It’s finally here, with a bespoke, 500-hp twin-turbo V-6 and three electric motors that provide real torque-vectoring – and step in to mask turbo lag. The NSX has all the ingredients for the tastiest supercar, but does it all work as well as the original NSX did? Will it make Ferrari step back and say “whoa” once again? Does Honda’s decision to stuff the NSX full of so much technology actually make for a better-driving supercar? Motor Trend Senior Features Editor Jason Cammisa heads to Sonoma Raceway to find out on this episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack.

Limited edition only and maybe 2 or 5 will make its way to Canada.
It's not a competition by any means, nor will it ever be.

The only problem is that Honda will not continue to innovate this thing and improve it every year like the GT-R. Its in Honda's blood to let its best cars fade away for practical cars.

Any of the multitude of reasons people buy cars other than the GT-R (many of which are slower than the GT-R)?

I've never heard the word "software" spoken as many times as in this video.

Honda is a joke. Who puts all that power into a fwd bias car?

I put this in the same category as the Veloster. At this point Honda should try to merge wiith Hyundai so we can finally call it HonDay and not Hi-Yun-Die.

Where did you get the idea that it's fwd biased? The video (@8:00) says that the rear overpowers the front at 70-80mph.

Buy new NSX limited edition as garage queen. Then sell for big bucks as a collector's car in future.

So I have to be going 120kph to have rear wheel bias, might as well buy a BRZ where you can utilize rear bias as from as little as 1kph.

Sure you won't have the power but power hardly matters for day to day driving.

Then by all accounts front or rear wheel driving doesn't natter for day to day driving either. Lol

I have no idea how it's tuned for fwd or rwd bias. It's computerized so much power distribution could change at any second I suppose. At 80 mph was just an example, doesn't prove its fwd, rwd biased or balanced. I guess you must work for Acura and have all these figured out.

Many supercars now are awd with setups similar to this, motor + engine, so are you saying it's inferior to pure rwd? What's your point?
