Somewhat related - has anyone used a 32" LED TV as their monitor?

I'm trying to find a decent 27" 1440p screen. Hopefully something comes up as a hot deal. Most of the deals on black friday seemed to be on 1080p or 4k screens.

I have used a 32" 720p LED TV as a monitor. It wasn't ideal, 1080p at least would've been better. It wasn't too bad either.

It's too bad. I google'd it and started to do some research. I liked what I read only to find out it's a clearance item and no stores within 100km have it :( (nor is it available online). It's to bad. $299 seemed like a good deal. Especially if I could find a staples coupon to add on top.

I have a 1060 6gb and I want a 27 inch ips. Do you think the 1060 6gb can handle 1440p 60hz or should I get a 1080?

Don't get the appeal of a 27" 1080p. Very interested in the topic however, 24".

Costco recently had the HP27vc (1080p) on sale in-store for $199 and online for $219 I believe.
I have the older model 27bw bought @ Futureshop 2 years ago. Great 1080p monitor and no apparent pixilation, especially for older eyes.
Good contrast/colours. Only Cons is the reflective surface, no biggie if you don't have light source at your back.

There are various iterations of the same monitor on Amazon, BB, Staples MSRP at $349, but come on sale frequently for $199.
HP 27er 27es 27xi
Variances in case colour and stand. Panels are all the same.

I have used a 42" Samsung LED TV (1080p) as a 2nd monitor HDMI-out on a Mac Mini before. But only for displaying Videos.
Text would be too pixilated. 32" would be borderline if you can sit back twice arm length, otherwise 27" is the max for 1080p.
