is $25,234 a good price for Hyundai Elantra preferred 2021 demo car ?

Hi, I am looking to buy my first car. After I test-drived the new Hyundai Elantra Preferred IVT 2021, the dealer said the total price for a new one is 27643 CAD (including everything) but if I am ok with a demo car ( mileage around 7000 km ) they can sell it for 25321. The reason it is cheaper because they remove the 1725 delivery fee + 200 wheel lock + 100 federal air con tax. They also list 500 of admin fee into the price (25321 CAD). I think the car is good but the price seems high. The interest rate for financing is 0.99%. Anyone has any suggestion on how much should I look to negotiate for this car ? Thanks

lol, wtf, $200 wheel locks? I'd pay to have them no put those garbage locks on my car. They're playing you with that one. Also, you're still being charged for delivery and AC tax, it's just included.

I just priced a BRAND NEW Elantra Preferred for under $24k with fees, so you're getting ripped off.

Your 2021 ELANTRA Preferred IVT
Total$23,954.70 delivery and destinations fees

Also, I don't see any good reason to get the Preferred over the Essential. Doesn't seem $4k is worth paying for BCA/RCCA, 16in alloys, heated steering and push button start.

It's good that you're asking BEFORE you bought the car. Don't sweat it too hard, dealers are experts as selling, especially to new buyers. Read up as much as you can before you buy.

Lol dealerships will say anything to sell a car, a Hyundai with 7000km needs a significant discount, its a used car! Worse than a used car its a ex-rental car.

Who cares how much a new one is you negotiate based on the condition of the vehicle.

low 20's or walk away, 7,000km's doesn't seem like alot if it was one owner but this is a demo, I bet you that vehicle was driven very hard

If you really like it then offer this:

$24,000 / 60 months = $400/mo (all in out the door).

Its a demo/loaner car. Dont pay more than $24k.

This.

Just tell them you will pay $24k all in. Not a cent more. They can play with admin fees or any other BS dealership like to throw/play with. As long as it's $24k all in, it makes no difference.

I'd start even with the $400/m all in, see if they bite (doesn't matter fees, interest rate, etc) as long as it's $400 or less getting debited out of your bank account and only for 60 months and not more. Make sure you triple check this. They are vets at hiding stuff. Also decline all BS paint protection, seat protection, undercarriage protection, whatever stupid things they try to upsell you when you are in the finance department.

We have too many Elantra’s on the road. Get something safer please. People should drive more Subarus but I’m biased.

I'm assuming the cost the OP was quoted for a brand new one includes sales tax. It comes to $27,068.81 in ON with about $600 being unaccounted for in the quote.

No one pay full 27k for elentra to begin with, and demo is a used car or ex rental as other said.lol. so 24k is even a bad price for what it is.

Exactly!

I think the OP could get a brand new one with 0 kms for the price they are quoting him (a demo). Yes, I'm pretty sure that if the OP goes to another dealer and offers $25,321 CAD all in for the same car, the dealer would sell it fast.

Financing terms would be the same. So you may as well get a new one.

Run OP! New Elantra looks great, but only a $2.3k discount for 7000km USED vehicle is absolutely insulting.

I'd take a look at your local Kijiji market to get an idea (if you're OK with the idea of slightly used). Otherwise, go to another dealer.

A demo car is just them prettying up the term "used car". They are driven hard constantly so those aren't easy kilometers...Hyundai residuals are getting better but for sure you shouldn't be paying new price for a used car. They sucker new people into demos all the time don't be one of them.

Any slightly used Hyundai should be an automatic 30% off.

One should never buy Korean without a deep discount new or used.

They did not give you any deal on the Demo, those Freight and PDI should be taken out anyway if it is a demo. That's already $2000 there.

For a $2000 difference, go get the brand new car.

Check out the Hyundai dealers recommendation thread if you're in Toronto. I bought mine at Pineview Auto close to invoice price.

Check out your rights on buying demo vehicles on OMVIC website. Dealer cannot charge you for certain new vehicle related fees (e.g. air tax) because according to OMVIC "Demonstrators are Used Vehicles "
