I've had a couple Omega's and loved them... I have to say I like the look of some of these homage watches, but where they lost me is a run of the mill Swatch quartz movement and a part ceramic/plastic case.

It's pretty strong money for this when you can get certain model Seiko 5's and Orient with real, Automatic movements.

They are only available in "Swatch Boutiques" so maybe there could be very few units. I don't really like "knockoff" watches, even though it's Omega's parent company Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

i like it. It looks pretty great considering it's basically a plastic version

The regular moonwatch is mostly priced out of reach for the average person. This is an official homage so there is no stigma with it.

From far away, the first thing that gives it away is the subdial positioning/spacing. Otherwise, a lot of the other details are quite similar

That's too bad for me. I am too old and impatient to go lineup and not going to pay scalper/flipper/reseller prices. Are these going to be limited?

I can't find any information on that and I don't need this day one. I would have loved owning such a fun homage watch.

with all of these variations, they really missed an opportunity to offer a panda version. I think they must have that in their back pocket for later

I might pick up one of these when they are available online to add to my real omega and bulova moonwatch

Same and the moon is likely to go first so you'll need to be there early if that's what you want.

I'm too lazy to drive DT and don't want to line up with a bunch of people, so I'll likely watch for it to be released online.

So they will have a large manufacture meaning - won't be anything rare about them. They're probably measuring interest with the first drop. There's only flagship stores in Toronto, Montreal and Burnaby... I won't be driving to even look at one, they are listed on Swatch Canada for $320 CDN.

Gonna pass. A Plastic cased watch doesn't do it for me even at this price point. If it had a metal case I'd actually think about getting one as I like the look of a few of them. I can't see a Pink Moon Watch at 42mm selling too well, I don't see many Women wearing huge watches anymore. 2010 is over.

I'm into it. I have the full Moonwatch (Hesalite), and I feel this one nails a lot of those unique design features.

What really surprised me is the price. Yeah I know it's quartz and not in a steel case, but you're getting a lot of that style for a fraction of the price. Would make for a great beater.

So would many other lower priced watches. Do you trust a plastic pusher for a chronograph? First thing you hit with the watch will it break off?

Not really a concern for me. What else is out there that has this style? Nothing, as far as I know.

If you're talking just about price, a Seiko 5 could be a cheaper beater, but that's an entirely different rabbit hole.

Bulova Lunar Pilot at around $425... and it's Metal.

Like I said, I do like the styling of some of the models but the plastic case, pushers, really kill it for me. When they don't sell very well and are half price come Black Friday, I might pickup a black or brown one. If not, it's a pass for me. $320 is strong money for a plastic Swatch.

And I respect that. I'm not a fan of the Bulova Lunar Pilots, at least for me, the 45mm size makes them a non-starter.

And with these Moonswatch pieces, you're getting pretty much all of that iconic Moonwatch design, not something that's just "close". It can't even be called a homage, because it's literally from Omega and Swatch.

Probably not worth lining up for though, IMO... you'll just be dealing with a lot of loser scalpers, I think.
Deal with it.
