$40 for 4GB BYOP Plans - Virgin and Fido

I'm not sure if this is posted anywhere yet, but just thought I'd pass on the info. Both Virgin and Fido are offering $40 for 4GB BYOP plans for new activations. Was told Fido was doing it for existing customers as well, but not 100% sure.

Price is for 12 months, but requires $35 activation fee + $10 SIM card, however I was able to obtain a $25 credit (YMMV). Was also given 1000 long distance minutes to a limited number of countries including HK/China and 10% off each additional line on the account with Fido. Please note, this was at the First Markham Place Fido kiosk.

I made the jump from Virgin to Fido, because Virgin wouldn't offer me the new activation deal.

Hope this helps!

i went to the online Fido chat. They offered me 4GB for $50 with unlimited minutes with $10 off for the next 12 months. So deal checks out.

Heard about it from a friend, so I went into both at first markham place. Asked about it and they confirmed.

Agreed, not the "hottest" deal around but for those that are not huge data users i think it's a decent price.

Fido shows 40$/5GB for me
You mean $50 for 4GB? Sweet if you can land 1GB more for the same price. As per above post, it's not on the Fido site.

Called into Virgin and was able to get 4gb 40$ plan as an existing customer, no hassle.

No. 40$ for 5gb. If I did not have a company phone, I might have chosen it, otherwise I stay with my current data-less plan.

Called as an existing Fido customer and was told that it doesn't exist. Guess I should try again later for another rep?
