rtings.com has great in depth reviews to help make a more informed decision based off of your needs. I would suggest looking on there.

Right now I am in the same boat trying to decide on whether or not to get the Asus VG289Q as it is the better monitor as it has a higher HDR potential at 350cd/m2 although HDR isn't really HDR at that. I only want to spend $350 to $450 before tax at most. Just like with the OP any help is greatly appreciated. Also if anyone has seen 1080p results on any of the 4K monitors in this price range let me know the performance as I am not satisfied with the horrible performance I am seeing on my 4K tv used as a monitor at 1080p.

Below are the 4 monitors which I was interested initially
Samsung U28R55
Asus TUG Gaming VG289Q
Dell S2721QS
LG 27UL650

I really like Dell S2721QS, but its out of my choice, as there is no HDR. LG model have HDR10 and Display HDR400, I am doubt the quality of the LG build / stand.
So finalized to go with Samsung or Asus. I might go with Asus VG289Q because of the tilt screen and 3 yrs warranty. I have the same doubt of 10810p results on 4 monitor. My main intention for 4k monitor is to watch 4k movies, for games I have to go with 1080 / 1440 resolution as I have only RTX2060

Hi, one big factor is that the Samsung one does not have an internal speaker. Monitor speakers are garbage anyways, but there's your difference.
