Which ~ $50 Android Tablet - RCA or Ematic?

The Source has the EMATIC EGQ327M-SL Android 4.2 for $49.99
Walmart has an RCA 7” Android 4.4 Table RCT6773W22 for $54.00

Both are advertised to be Quad Core 1024x600 with 8GB

RCA Pros: 1.4 vs 1.2Ghz, Android 4.4
Ematic Pros: HDMI, Dedicated charging port

Can't comment on the RCA, but had the ematic one and it was slow as ****, felt more like a single core

I would strongly recommend buying the on-sale Dell Venue 7 or Asus Memo Pad HD 7" instead. Venue 7 was on sale for $99 recently, probably will be again, it's $50 more but price is justified imo. 2 GB ram with a higher resolution and better battery. Asus one is usually on sale for $140ish. Should be by Cyber Monday or December sales again.

Agreed. Using the dell venue which was bought for 95 plus tax. Good value.

Most of the vulnerabilities discussed are common to the Android version they are running and would be present in a similar $200 tablet running the same version.

For me, I'm not looking to do my banking on it - just to offload my daughters TVOKids games and some other kids games and educational titles I have aquired from Amazon's free app days. These are currently on my tablet and my wife's phone. Once installed, she will be locked down to those apps with no WiFi.

Ordered one of each - will return one. Received the Ematic today. It is fairly responsive. Scored over 12000 on Antutu - not too bad. Downloaded a bunch of kids apps from Amazon - WiFi was solid.

OP, I'd be interested in the screen quality on these two tablets. Many of the cheapies have these awful screens that don't respond well to touches and have these washed out displays that turn white and/or have the colors invert if you look at them even slightly off-centre. I know because I have one I got from the US while on vacation, shame because its got 1GB ram and otherwise decent specs, but the screen frustrates me to no end.
