Just received email offer from Safeway for 60 Airmiles for every $50 HB gift purchased (note: limit one bonus offer per transaction). Repeat 11 times and get 660 Airmiles which depending on what you use them for can be worth up to $132 value (20cents/airmile value). Mind you, doing 11 separate transactions would be a pain. Depending on how much you value airmiles, could be worth it.

link to safeway coupon: http://email.safeway.ca/printcoupons/?mailing=pr-19710

Looks like online orders only allow you to enter a max of 2 gift cards per order, so would need to be able to purchase in store for above to work.

The thinner jar from the one at costco and the one at the bay are different. The Jar dimensions are different and trust me, it makes a huge difference.

I own the jar type from the one being sold at The Bay and it blends super easy. However, my girlfriend owns the one from Costco with the thinner but taller jar and it has a much more difficult time blending. I am assuming it's due to the thinner jar while mine has the wider base. Someone else can explain the science behind this but I would suggest going with the shorter but wider jar model.

While I bought mine about 4 years ago, some who have bought in the last year or two have reported seeing black particles after blending:

I believe the issue is resolved now, but just something to test for and keep in mind.

Not only that but the shorter jar will actually fit on your countertop and underneath your shelves. It'll be much better for storage

Apparently the shorter but wider jar is not so good for blending small amounts of ingredients as the bottom base is too wide so it spreads your ingredients further from the blade. If you're intending to make 1-2 glasses of smoothies per blending cycle, the taller jar will be better.

If these are in fact the dimensions, then this most likely will not fit under your cabinets. Most cabinets are about 17" above the countertop.

I saw that it was pretty comparable to other sites as well, but this one has extra accessories. Does that mean anything? I've never owned a vitamix before. Thanks!
