This is still what I use with my Fido 3gb/4gb data only plans.

25$ / year to keep active is hard to beat when you need something a bit more reliable than VoIP. But the 1.25$ bogus 911 fee still sucks, draining up more than half of the topup to keep the account active

Been enjoying this for the longest time, although I'll admit I'm slightly leaning towards Public Mobiles $15 plan which I believe gets reduced to $13ish with autopay.

I have PM $10 50/50 plan and Fido $10 4GB plan on my dual SIM phone. The PM 50 minutes/50 texts plan is no longer offered by PM.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $34 15GB, $11 250MB, 2x $5 50min/50text, $0 FPL home phone,
Fido $5 4GB plan with a free tablet.

But $15 - $2=$13 is there, with incoming free calls, +100 min. CND +unlimited text WW +some miserable amount of data...

I have 3 speakout plans and one telus pay-as-go plan, but I'm thinking of switching to PM. I just cancelled the $10/mnth texting on the speakouts.

Still, Speakout is probably the cheapest plan going, even with the 911 fee. Good for emergency use.

You could have added the $20 add-on which give you 200 local minutes + unlimited NA text for a duration of 30 calendar days. Then again, SpeakOut is only good when using it like a low usage payphone or as en emergency line when the primary phone plan fails. Once exceeded 45mins ($0.30/min), or 91 outgoing text messages ($0.15/text), or any combination of both that adds up to more than $13.75 per month on average per year, then it makes no sense to use SpeakOut for long term basis.

I went to public mobile last fall from Speakout . I took the $15/30day plan. I pay pay $11 per billing cycle. Auto pay plus two referrals. I have unlimited text now, I don't have to always think about using up credit or talk time when I was with speakout. Good thing with Public is unlimited incoming talk time ,100 minutes outgoing. Speakout was good and never had a issue, I just found Public gives you a little more freedom if your concerned about using up your 365 day credit with speakout to soon. I did take advantage of the $100 for $125 credit in the past. I found I was always conscious as I was running out of credit and still had 4-6 weeks to go and hoping for another speakout sale.

Two years ago, I found out PM $10 50/50 plan right after I purchased $100 SO topup. I have to wait for 11 months to use up my $125 credit. PM is a prepaid service as well and no refund of any fund in your PM account if you cancel early. Even PM has better plan now. But we don't know the future. Therefore, don't pay too much up front to create a virtual long term contract.

There's no mention of a free sim card on the site, but I got a free sim yesterday when purchasing the $100 topup. I didn't ask for a free sim, he offered, so if they don't give you one, it might be worth asking.

Hey, does anybody know if SpeakOut accepts the KOHO visa card when buying online? During Covid I am using many times more minutes than I usually do. Flushed Face And I am NOT getting on a bus to go to 7-Eleven. 🦠 Thx.

My account is being used up by spammers so I won't be reloading. Will likely go with a plan elsewhere.

I use to use Speakout and the Freedom Mobile $99/year talk and text won me over.

It is free incoming text and free call display. Don't answer any calls if you don't have to to. I have free wifi at home and work. a lot of big stores have free wifi. I use free phone calling apps with wifi. I have Speakout for 2 years and only used $5 for emergency calls only. I still have $15 left in credits after reloading $25 per year & deducting $1.25 911 fee per month. So this $25 bonus offer is not useful for me.
How did spammers use up your credit?

I know that is my problem ( didn’t top up before airtime expired) caused me lost about $90 and number.

Maybe you shouldn’t try to get the extra $25 for free (that is what I did, and I end up lost more than what I got).
