I was with Speakout years ago, and only topped up when they had they 100+25 offers. I never understood why they kept throwing in free SIM cards. I had a handful of them.

You can offer those SIM cards for sale at RFD BST post.

HINT: I take one off your hand for a right price. I need a 3 in 1 SIM card since my old SO card is 'too big' for newer phones. PM me,
Thanks.

My understanding is short codes were not supported on SO or PC.
That said, it seems there are some mixed results here - possibly on both platforms.

I think around 2015 is when short codes were enabled - https://www.speakoutwireless.ca/speak/t ... ort-codes/
I signed up in 2016 and had no problem entering mobile contests where I had to send to a short code. The official SpeakOut FAQ also said short codes were allowed before the website revamp.

Forgot to refill daughter's account which expired two days ago. Just fill up her account with this promote and her old balance is there with the $125, thanks OP.

Can a light user expect a $125 top up to last a year?

Speakout gives you a grace period of 7 days to reactivate your account and keep your balance. after 45 days from balance expiry, you'll lose your account/ph# too.

depends on your definition of light. So you have $125 less $15 of 911 fees charged over 1yr leaves you with $110 to talk with. At 30 cents/min, you have 366min/yr or about 30min/month of talk time. So if you talk less than those amounts, 711 is the best way to go.

Keep in mind, 711 charges your airtime if you activated vm feature and someone leaves you one. As well, 711 charges you airtime to listen to that vm. you're getting double dinged!

If you use free calling apps like Hangout Dailer, Textnow, etc. and call 604-762-9993 (Vancouver) or call 647-278-9956 (Toronto), you won't get dinged to listen to your vm :)

This is incorrect. You do not get charged if someone leaves you voicemail. But regular airtime applies to listen to voicemail from your mobile phone. You can always access your voicemail from a landline by calling you cell, hitting #, and entering your pin. https://www.speakout7eleven.ca/plans
