77" Sony OLED XBR77A9G $4999 ($2000 off) -

Price:
$4999
Expiry:
November 8, 2020
Finally the 77" OLED is AT $5000 but this is the A9G (not sure if the A9H is out. I am tempting to pull the trigger and try to pull the 15% discount on price different with Vision (thought Sony control the price?)

Looks like all authorized retailer will drop to the same price

I am very very tempted ...

I know its just semantics but saying something priced at $4,999.99 "is under $5000" sounds so dumb to me.

It’s worth it.

Is burn in still an issue for OLED? 5k burned in paper weight will be a shame

Yup. It's a problem. My 65" LG C7 has bad burn in. I'm about to replace it with a 65" CX that will most likely suffer the same fate, but I don't see anything else that meets my standards. As much as I want a bigger TV, I will be waiting for newer technology and get another 65 for half the price of a 77.

Sure seems to be TV sale season with all these threads lol.

Man I wish there was a larger option than 77 for OLED.

did the C7 have logo luminance adjustment? that is supposed to help reduce burn in

I always wonder how people end up getting burn in on their tvs. I left a static image on my b6 for 5 days while I was away for a weekend and came back to about 15 seconds of TIR

To a degree yes, though it's much less common and severe than discussed. Most people wouldn't meaningfully experience it.

They've been running older OLEDs for the equivalent of five hours a day for five years. With varied content, they believe most people won't experience burn in. With mostly static content (CNN all day, etc) you'll eventually get it.

What’s the consensus around here about Best Buy protection? I just sprung for the Samsung Q80T (I know not as good as OLED- but this better suits my needs for a couple of reasons).

$500 for 2 years ($600 for OLED) seems so high compared to the no-brainer Costco warranty.
