Its interesting

"The property was recently put up for sale with a price tag of $750,000. Not bad for a detached home with more than 1,000 square feet of usable space, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, granite-counter kitchen and sauna."

Holding back on offers too until Sept. 2

Somebody will buy it, I wouldn't but maybe even one of the neighbours with an eye to expanding or an artist they love unusual properties.

Great house if you enjoy staring at the wall all day.

This house is marketed as being unique one of a kind.
So $750k is too cheap for such an unique house, it should be worth more than 1 million.

Yet people buy townhouses in Markham for more. I have seen an 1 bed loft being sold for 600K+.

Even starving artists can "afford" 750k homes today with mortgage rates and CMHC propping them up lol

If you don't mind 8 foot wide then you can move to a trailer. Even a 60 or 100ftx 8 long trailer can put on agricultural land.

And where do I find this "agricultural land" in downtown Toronto? Or a three story trailer for that matter.

People would build and live in small properties(homes and apartments) in Metro Vancouver although under zoning laws its mostly illegal except for special test cases.

Lol, what? Detached? That's a glorified townhouse in a seedy area. Actually, that's probably one of the worst areas not just downtown but entire Toronto - right between Regent Park and Moss Park.

I can verify that it is very difficult to buy a townhouse in Markham for under 750k today. There are a few, but they are either really old, really small, or they are downright terrible. But that's what you get when you shop under 750k.

This 8 feet house will sell. It'll probably sell over asking. Someone's gonna pay.

Hmm, I'm no expert on Markham RE but there's a lot of townhouses sold for under $700K in Markham in June and July if you look on realmarketwatch.ca. One random example is 553 William Berczy sold for $642,000 on Aug 12. Or 803 Caboto Tr sold for $663,000. Looking at Google Streetview, they look quite decent from the outside.

I am sorry I meant parks of Markham where people actually wanna live. There are some, but it is dire pickings below 750k

Granite counters you say? Sounds like a bargain then.

Was going to put in an offer but It doesn't seem to mention coming with gleaming hardwood floors.
