85" TU800 4K UHD Samsung TV Advertised as $1,199 (Teletime)

Deal Link:
Price:
1199.99
The Teletime flyer on RFD shows the 85" SAMSUNG UN85TU8000FXZC SMART 4K UHD TV on sale for $1,199.99.
Definitely worth trying to price match to the flyer. The actual website has it listed for $1,998.

See screenshot below.

Clearly a price error if the actual site has it listed at 1999.99... someone just hit a "1" instead of a "9".

Trying to price match an obvious price error is pretty unethical.

Same can be said for any error.

Is an error of judgement also unethical? Such errors cause thousands of Canadians to be taken advantage of from telecommunications contracts to mortgages. Is that unethical for corporations to do? Or did the consumer err in reading and do it themselves? Should the corporation have stepped in and stopped them?

What about withholding information in the free market? Lack of information causes the consumer to err. Do you know the markup of on TVs is approximately 100%? Does that change anything? Does it even matter?

Unless specifically asked, no point in giving your opinion on ethics, everyone has their own.

Give me a break... of course an honest error in judgement isn't unethical. What kind of argument is that? But Intentionally passing off incorrect information as valid for personal-gain is 100% unethical.

Hi, i am not interessed by the TV but guys how do you shop in teletime website? I am looking for a deal for a washer and dryer, i wanted to look the prices on this website. Most of the items you have only a button of : click here for the price.. I filled out the request and never got a response in 1 week. I have even go the live chat but no answer. You can not see the price and you can not order it either anytime. I do not know much about Teletime but this is really ridiculous is garbage.

So, where’s the best place for me to price match this? Best Buy online or Visions Electronics online? Thinking Face

My God says he’ll let it slide if I ask for forgiveness after the fact. I’d give you his contact information but unfortunately RFD doesn’t allow referral links.

So I actually went into Visions and Best Buy earlier to try to get one. The guy at Visions told me it was clearly a price error since his cost was 1980 and they were already selling it at cost at Visions. He said he didn't mind price matching Boxing Day offers, but he isn't obligated to price match what he thought was an error. The guy at Best Buy told me that Teletime was not an authorized reseller of Samsung TV's and that they wouldn't price match with them. He said they generally only price match TV's with Walmart and Visions (maybe some other place he might have named). He did, however, offer 200 dollars off the current price of 2000.
