Amazon.ca is selling 8TB N300 NAS drives for $234.98. They are 7200 RPM CMR drives.

Do you guys think we'll probably see better deal during the BF-Christmas season? Last year, WD Red Plus 8TB were sold for $200 but this year I don't know due to Chia coin mining.

I was able to get 2 10tb Seagate Expansion 10tb Externals (STEB10000400) and shuck them last BF for $200. Inside were Ironwolf Pro drives which are also 7200rpm cmr drives. However, I'm also not sure if they will go that low this year.

Chia didn't exist last BF.
Hard drive prices have risen by like 20% at minimum across the board so OP's deal isn't actually terribly bad.
It's truly awful compared to anything historic but Chia has taken up like 35EB of hard drive space for nothing.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

I wouldn't be surprised if prices dropped now that Chia is pretty unprofitable at current hard drive prices. Space used hasn't really increased in the past few weeks.

I don't think prices would go up much anymore, so if you don't mind waiting you can probably wait and see what deals are out there.
