I actually think this one would be better to go with if you don't need the more powerful 4500u for a $300 savings.

Maybe not but it has it own 2GB GDDR5, more RAM available to the system.
Someone also mentioned that video encoding performance is better on the Nvidia card

I was tempted, but got the same message. Want to buy from Costco.

I don't do any gaming, so the graphics card seemed overkill. I guess I'll wait for a BTS deal.

I was ready to finally pull the trigger as well, but OOS at Costco.
Finding a 14 inch notebook with 16gb RAM 512gb SSD and decent screen at a good price is quite a hunt.

Don't believe so because it has it's own R7 to power the graphics for spreadsheets and twitch videos until the MX350 is needed for something like COD: Warzone.
Also Costco has an ACER with a 4700u in it for $839 just for comparison of price point and functionality for those who prefer the ACER brand name compared to ASUS.

Its a misprint...The Acer is a Ryzen 5.

Any idea how this would handle casting 4k videos to a TV? I noticed that my macbook pro from 2013 is struggling with some of the higher quality videos (full 4k about 16GB files).

This thing seems gimped by the mx350 more than benefit.

Graphics scores are within 15-25% lower here, but the CPU scores came up higher in some of these combined tests. That’s due to this particular implementation. With the MX350 enabled, the system quickly limits the CPU’s frequencies in combined loads and favors the dGPU, as also shown by our 3Dmark and Luxmark stress tests. However, with the MX350 out of the picture, the CPU runs at higher clocks for a bit longer, before eventually dropping to roughly the same frequencies

The cooling is kind of crappy so the whole thing throttles a lot and on top of it the MX350 just adds more heat. Wouldn't be surprised if the battery life is better without it even tho it is only supposed to kick in when you are gaming.
Imagine if the space they used to put the MX350 in there was instead dedicated to better cooling for the CPU, this would be much better in that case.

Also doesn't seem to have a fingerprint reader which I'd much rather use than face login.

Bilingual keyboards aren't the actual issue. It's that a lot of them use ISO layouts. I've seen a few bilingual keyboards that are ANSI and you wouldn't even notice a difference, aside from the French characters printed on the keys.
