In 2012 the c250 came in 2 powertrains
-c250 is turbo 4 cylinder but rear wheel drive only. Has one exhaust pipe
-c250 4matic had the smoother but gas guzling and slower 2.5 liter V6 and all wheel drive. Has dual exhaust

-2012 c250's Came with halogen headlights
-2012 c300 had hid/xenon standard (optional in 2013)

Source - had bought a new one in 2012.

2012 C300 is powered by a sluggish 3.0-litre V6, only putting out 228 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.

2013 - 2014 C300 has a newer engine, a detuned version of the 3.5-litre V6 found in the C350 sedan, produces 248 hp and 251 lb-ft.

My mom has a few friends who own the thing, they can have random electrical issues like not starting(because it couldn't detect the fob), sunroof problems, alarm problems, etc. Nothing the warranty couldn't solve but certainly not confidence inspiring. I don't see too many of them at work, but this generation of C-class and the B-class I've seen are prone to overheating, something I don't see with any other make including horrible Dodges. Alright vehicles to lease, because if it really goes bad...you can give it back. Its been a while since I drove a C250 instead of the later C300s(which I drove today), but I remember those ones being slow. My opinion as a result of these cars is very low and I wouldn't buy it if there wasn't good warranty to avoid repair costs. There are other cars I'd much rather buy.

Own fully loaded C300 4matic since new in 2012.
Zero issues so far @56km. I just did annual oil change & AT fluid change last month.
2013 has auto start stop function which may prone to starter problems later. Also 2013 has direct injection which is quite noisy & maybe carbon build up later.

No.

As the car gets older, they will have more and more expensive problems.

btw, my dad had a 07 e350. No tranny & engine problem. But the a/c, heating blower fan motor cost $3K+ (on separate occasion) to fix.

I can afford repairs up to 4-5K. It's when the repairs come to more than that that will concern me.

It's going to be my secondary vehicle, probably drive it 10,000 kilometres a year?

The pre 2010 e class is nothing special at all.

If you want a bit of luxury vehicle, look at lexus or a loaded up avalon or camry

Yeah but I loved the shape of the W211, don't know it always appealed to me.

And yeah the ES is pretty nice.

Just for thought

He traded in 07 e350 rwd 75000km to mb dealer in 2013 for $9000.

Therefore, for 2010 e350, you may be looking at about mid to high $20's

The links you provided shows very few complaints and doesn't even say it's a money pit. In fact, it probably proves the car is reliable with very few problems and complaints. It's not even like serious complaints. Dead battery? Hesitates when downshifting? Seat cover crinkled? That's just funny.
