When trying to download the QR code, the last question is:
Do you identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis? (required)
(If you are a non-Indigenous partner or household member of someone in this group, select "Yes.")

Anyone know what the relevance of that is when it comes to proving Covid vaccinations?

I'm just guessing here, but I believe that group isn't covered by Provincial Health insurance, in this case OHIP, so they might have to be directed to a different website for access.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think that's it.

I know a number of people from the reserves near Montreal, Cornwall and Belleville, some living on the reserve, others not.
They all have OHIP cards.

Didn’t see this Question when I downloaded my Vaccine Certificate
(And I just checked now … and it didn’t come up either)

I DO REMEMBER seeing it when I booked my Vaccination Appointments (same website)

Reason as I understand it … was Govt was tracking Canada’s Natives as they were considered a highly vulnerable population

In the same way the website was also tracking folks that were in Essential Services (Medical, Police etc), LT Care, Immune Compromised, or Caring for someone who was infirmed / disabled etc

Canada … in this case represented by Ontario … was making a CONSCIENTIOUS EFFORT to make sure those most at risk got their shots first and foremost before the general, population

Which link are you using to get your QR code?

I use this one:
https://covid-19.ontario.ca/get-proof/

and still get that question at the end requiring a "mandatory" reply
That is by selecting two shots, all in Ontario and green OHIP card

Do you still have the red and white health card? It doesn't seem to show up if you select that option instead of the green health card.

I still see the link and you were correct, it had nothing to do with what I guessed. I selected that I was part of that group and it took me to the exact same page as if I wasn't part of that group.

Similar … but we go via the main page
https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/

Check the box for accepting T&Cs
Then hit the Download button underneath

Takes me to a pg to fill in my info
Do that then … Click continue

After that takes me to pg for choice …
Vaccine booking
Or
Proof of Vaccine

After I click Proof of Vaccine
It shows me my vaccine history

If I want to go further, there’s a download button
So I can download a Vaccine Certificate with PR Code

We have OHIP Green Cards

Yes

I noticed that immediately.

Although based on yesterday’s Federal Vaccine Passport Announcement, I suspect the next document will be even more official for international travels.

But do read the bit about how Ontario’s Vaccine Certificate was developed to the SMART Health Canada standard :

Use this to get it in a mobile wallet for Apple/Android. You need iOS 15 and above for iPhone users.

There is an official app you're supposed to use to scan the QR code, have you tried that yet?

I can't believe it took them a month to put together such a user unfriendly thing for android users.
To get just the QR code to show, I had to:

Download the pdf to my computer.
Open pdf & do a snip of just the code.
Save clip as a jpeg image.
Email image to someone as an attachment.
Get them to text me back the image.
Save image to phone with shortcut to screen.

It worked.
It would have been much easier if the government could have sent me an image of the QR code directly to my cell phone via txt messaging.

That's for businesses to download to scan peeps at the door say a restaurant or large venue, concert, etc. There is NO personal app for the end-user. However, no doubt you can download the business app and scan your own QR code or friends, family members, etc. But don't see the point of this. lol.

At first, I did similar shit with the iPhone becuz it doesn't save pdf files directly. Then sent the PDFs via email to myself, saved in folder on the iPhone. Used the widget feature to place pdfs on the home screen. From there it allows you to expand, maximize QR code to size. No doubt android has the same features since apple copied it from them.

Evil Baby wrote: What a pathetic joke that they couldn't manage to release an Android app at the same time. It's not like this was a surprise to anyone. Mobile OS share is 55% vs 45%.

Rather pathetic.
Bottom line is Android is fragmented junk and not a real software.
