How can I be sure that when I order beyond its actually beyond? I'm vegetarian and have never ate meat so I can't tell nor do I wanna try, any way to just know?

FWIW although the coupons say that they cannot be combined with other promotional offers, I (in Toronto) was able to get the $3.99 Beyond Meat coupon and the $3.99 Teen Burger (temporary special price) in the same transaction.

ask a vegan friend to take a bite? If they are cooked on the same griddle as burgers there might be meat-based fat transfer.

It's not vegetable scraps, it's a patty made with pea-protein. Some people enjoy this product, myself included.

Not if. They are cooked on the same grill as meat.

I actually like the taste of their regular burgers and their beyond beef. But yeah I just looked and it says
Beyond Meat Burger patties are cooked on the same grill as beef, bacon, and eggs and may come into contact with these ingredients.

They are actually not offers - the coupons that are redeemable through the app, when you select them on mobile (via awcoupon.ca), will give you a promo code that you then input into the app. They do NOT automatically appear in the app.

Yes, definitely a convoluted 2-step process if you ask me - if you are ordering ahead for pickup, why not make the coupons available in the app in the first place like numerous other fast food apps?

How is the fat content in the beyond patties vs actual meat patties?

According to some YouTube videos I saw: there are 18g of fat in a standard Beyond Meat patty compared to 15g of fat in a regular beef patty. Saturated fat is the similar, at 5g and 6g respectively.

In other words, comparable and often more fat overall in the Beyond, maybe to make up for missing 'meatness'.

Wow. Shouldn't be surprised.... as fat = flavourful

It is but it's also on the list of ultra processed foods, just heads up. Tastes fine and all, IMO. In terms of "closeness to meat" I'd say Impossible is definitely closer but that has soy in it.

Also the ones at A&W are slightly smaller than the type you buy in store, IIRC. And they are honestly super easy to cook at home because you can get the frozen pack of 8 at Costblo and then you simply put in the microwave for 1 min, and then cook in a frying pan for like 10 mins and all good.

I'm mad they fixed the Add egg option in the customizations (used to be a hack to add a free egg)
I probably didn’t need it but bought it anyway
