I think black label is a whiskey not a scotch. Never mind I guess it’s both.
Johnnie Walker Black Label is a true icon, recognised as the benchmark for all other deluxe blends. Created using only whiskies aged for a minimum of 12 years from the four corners of Scotland, Johnnie Walker Black Label has an unmistakably smooth, deep character. An impressive whisky to share on any occasion, whether you're entertaining at home or on a night out with friends.
Any ideas why a 12 year blended is so expensive? Most blended go for much less.

Scotch is whisky from Scotland. Whiskey is from Ireland/us/Canada.

It's expensive because it's good. But the best blended stuff for the price is Te Bheag.

Seems pretty cheap given the size of the bottle (1.75L)

Edit: this is a response to another user, not OP. Johnny black is alright but overpriced here in Canada.

Te Beag is pretty good, but IMO the best blended scotch for the price is Cutty Sark Prohibition. Not sure about availability outside Quebec but at SAQ it's 35.50 a bottle. Bottled at 50% and it's so good, a steal at that price. Beats most blends up to 60$ a bottle.

I didn't realize that Black Label was so expensive. I use it as a cooking whisky. Maybe I should be drinking it instead.
