Acer XF251Q 24.5" 75Hz 1ms GTG TN Monitor $169.99

I put one on reserve but I'm still not sure about it. I wanted an IPS panel but 1ms, 75Hz, rotate/swivel/height adjustment, 2 HDMI ports(!) and speakers make it seem like a good deal.

I don't play many FPSes and only have a regular PS$, and care more for image/color quality than response time. Will this monitor let me down?

honestly.. most people should be going for 144hz monitors..

anything like 60,75 hz, is really not worth unless you immediately need something, very budget. For more future proofing, better value, I think spend the little bit more on 144hz.

this monitor is not really on sale, similiar specs is always around this price. They just over price it..

Acer, while it is my own opinion and experience here, their quality for screens.. are not great, so I personally never buy Acer.

I'm honestly in a bit of a hurry (using a tiny 720p TV as a monitor); have been peeking at prices for entry-level monitors with the features I want since Corona started and I haven't seen a great price yet.

Ideally one of the Asus gaming monitors would go on sale for a good price...

Well, I won't say most people should be going for 144hz since everybody got different needs. But I would agree if you're gonna get this 75hz for fast pace 'gaming' then go all the way to 144hz to save your eyes.

You only have a regular PS4? Just get any cheap 5ms 1080p monitor/TV. I recently sold a 32" 1080p TV with a built-in Roku for 100 USD. A lot of games run only at 30fps anyways. I actually prefer to use a TV for consoles so I can easily adjust the volume with a remote control. I've had several monitors with built-in speakers and the volume control is always hidden away in some menu which is very annoying. If you must get a monitor, it's probably easier to use external speakers with their own built in volume control.

Anything above 60Hz is only useful for PC gaming. Even then I've been playing PC games at no higher than 75Hz for the last 10 years and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I picked up the Acer 23.8" FHD 75Hz 4ms GTG IPS LED FreeSync Gaming Monitor (SA240Y) - Black from Bestbuy for $149.99 last week. One day delivery ... very quick.

Very satisfied ... considering that it replaced my 9 year old ASUS 19" VH198T LED Monitor (VESA 100) ... found the receipt as well (Purchased for $125.42 on Sept 3, 2011 from Tigerdirect.ca on Woodbine Av in Markham ... and our damn government charged $11 plus tax for the monitor disposal fee ... scam program since you still had to pay another environmental fee when you dump it). That monitor sure did its work for 9 years ... and I managed to sell it on Kijiji to some dude for $40.

I don't do gaming with this monitor. It's just hooked up to the Desktop that is dedicated to downloading. Bigger screen gives my eyes so relaxation as I can watch my movies while working on the work laptop.
