Acura RDX- End of Year Rebates + Price Check

Hi everyone,

Been lurking here for awhile and have learned so much about bargaining and getting an awesome deal through you guys. I was hoping you could help me out and let me know if I'm on the verge of getting a good deal or not.

I used Unhaggle to get the Dealer Price, and got $38,815 for the base model. Until November 30th, they're offering a $3500 rebate ($2500 + $1,000 finance or cash rebate). The freight/PDI is $2,185. The before-tax price using the dealer's price would be $37,500. I know that dealerships like to make about 2-3% on top of the dealer price, which would be $38,250 - $38,625.

So after tax, here are the numbers:

Dealer price: $42,375
Dealer price + 2%: $42,375
Dealer price + 3%: $43,646

Realistically (and I believe I am quite skilled at bargaining), would it be possible to get this for about $42,000 all-in? It's the end of the year and I know the dealers want to sell to make their quotas. Or am I being unrealistic? Let me know, I really value your expertise. Thanks!

I think it’s possible assuming you’re looking at a 2017 and the car is in stock. Dealerships are looking to clear out stock before the 2018s arrive. Last week I was able to negotiate a good deal on a 2017 pilot that was in stock. I wasn’t able to get anywhere close to what I paid 6 months ago. Go to the dealership with your offer, flash your credit card and tell them you’re willing to put a deposit down if they accept your deal.

yes $42k all-in is very realistic and totally do-able in my opinion, I can't see them losing a sale over a few hundred bucks especially on 2017 inventory.
