Air Canada Aeroplan Status Extension/Up Offers For Cobranded Credit Cardholders:

Update 3 (Jan 27, 2022)
Rollover eUpgrade credits from 2021 are now deposited for some members that carry one of the premium aeroplan credit cards, earlier than the Mar 30 deadline.

Update 2 (Jan 9, 2022)
Seems like many people have already received the status upgrade now.
Data points include people who already owned the Premium Credit cards before the sign up date and also for new applications after the sign up offer and spend over 10K. Enjoys your benefits!
If you haven't received yours yet, Aeroplan seems to update the status in batches.

Update: Thanks to Mattt33 for calling Amex, as of today (Oct 13, 2021) this offer is still valid !
"by applying today even, if $10,000 is spent before Nov. 30 that we would be granted the elite status upgrade"

American Express®* Aeroplan® Reserve Card, American Express®* Aeroplan® Business Reserve Card, TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege Card and the CIBC Aeroplan ® Visa Infinite Privilege Card.
If you hold Visa Infinite Card, you will not be eligible. You need to hold the Privilege Crad

Members with no status can get the Aeroplan 25K tier, and those at 35K/50K/75K can up theirs, while Super Elite members will receive Status Qualifying Miles, Segment, and Dollars towards 2023 status.

Starting today, eligible existing primary cardholders who register will be able to reach status or jump up a tier more easily than ever through their everyday spend.

American Express®* Aeroplan® Reserve Card OR American Express®* Aeroplan® Business Reserve Cardholders: Register for this special offer and achieve 25K Elite Status when you spend $10,000 using your American Express®* Aeroplan® Reserve Card OR American Express®* Aeroplan® Business Reserve Card between July 1 and the required date*. Aeroplan 25K, 35K, 50K, 75K spend $10,000 on the card between July 1 and the required date* and step up a tier.
TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege Cardholders: Register for this special offer and achieve 25K Elite Status when you spend $10,000 using your TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege. Aeroplan 25K, 35K, 50K, 75K spend $10,000 on the card by the required date* and step up a tier.
CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege Cardholders: Register for this special offer and achieve 25K Elite Status when you spend $10,000 using your CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege Card. Aeroplan 25K, 35K, 50K, 75K spend $10,000 on the card the required date* and step up a tier.

For Amex Reserve: (Similar terms for CIBC and TD Visa Privilege card)
To qualify for this offer you must; (1) register for the Offer by November 30, 2021 and (2) have acquired an American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card or American Express Business Reserve Card between January 1, 2021 and July 11, 2021 and (3) have at least $10,000 in qualifying net purchases (the “eligible minimum spend requirements”) charged to your account during the Offer period and subsequently posted to your account by December 7, 2021. Supplementary Card purchases associated with the Offer are qualifying purchases and count towards the total combined spend threshold. The end date of November 30, 2021 is only applicable to the Advance your Status Offer and does not apply to other bonus point offers which are subject to different spend and Offer end dates.

Status benefits here
https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/hom ... efits.html

This just came out and there are lots of terms and conditions. Please read carefully.

The end date seems to be Nov 30, 2021 for those that have applied these premium cards between January 1, 2021 and July 11, 2021

For Card holder prior to January 1, 2021, the end date is October 22, 2021.

If you have never apply for these premium cards, you are automatically registered for this offer if you apply for these card starting July 12, 2021. Terms are similar and the end date is Nov 30, 2021

The toughest part will be the 10K spend in less than 5 months.
This works best for those that are applying for a new Amex Reserve card since you have to spend $1000 for 6 months anyway to obtain the welcome bonus. So Another extra 4K spend to unlock 25K status is good value.
If you can get a friend to refer you, you can even share the referral bonus.

So we have almost 300,000 Aeroplan points, accumulated over the years. Are we "elite" status ? How does this all work. Very confusing.

It's not confusing at all. You would know if you have elite status. It's typically obtained by flying and paying for your flights with cash (not on redemptions)... there have been a couple recent offers, including this one, which gives status without flying.

Sounds like I have until Dec 31, 2021 to spend $10k and go from no status to AP25k on my TD APVI.

... But I can also throw that same spend onto an AMEX Aeroplan Personal/Reserve and get much more value due to their increased WB offers. Yes, the TD card is a Visa so easier to hit MSR but... quite a hard sell.

i believe the aeropoint status is based on how many aeropoints you obtained on a yearly basis, not how many points you have.

Probably not. AC elite status is generally based on actual flights taken and spending at AC, not on aeroplan points accumulated through credit cards, etc. (this promo is an exception). Until last year, they were two separate programs, with the elite status formerly known as "altitude". If you have status, it will show on the AC website when you login. But unless you truly are a frequent flyer, you probably don't have status.

So the terms and conditions don't say anything about applying for the credit card today (after the offer was launched on July 12) and getting the offer.

PoT is reporting that new applicants are eligible but they're automatically registered, which explains why this language would be excluded from the terms and conditions.

My question to you guys is: where is PoT getting this info for new applicants?

a response was provided: aeroplan-air-canada-aeroplan-25k-status ... #p34725419

This Offer is only available to the Primary Cardholder of the new TD Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege Card account. I believe your TD APVI is not eligible.

I have CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite (non-Privilege), I tried registering at the OP's link and it says "Congratulations! You are now registered for this offer". But I'm not gonna put $10k spending on this card.

Most people have the regular TD Infinite, not the Privilege... just so people don't get confused and start using their regular Visa Infinite like a maniac.

Thank you for the details. Could you kindly explain what the following means "Members (Primary Cardholder)s with no Elite Status on November 30, 2021 will earn Elite xxk Status VALID THROUGH DECEMBER 21,2022".
I didn't understand the valid until 31 Dec, 2022 part.
Thank you in advance.

Status must be earned each year. So this promo would give you status for all of 2022 and then you would be back to having no status as of January 1, 2023 (unless you earn it again through other means). This offer does not actually give you any bonus aeroplan points, it just allows you to use the benefits afforded to those with 25K status such as priority boarding, limited upgrades and a couple of lounge passes.
